Deep below the island of Mortis, lies its previous inhabitant, a fish like beast from far below the ocean who moved to the surface for reason unknown.
The poor thing was once a noble and beautiful creature, bigger than the entire island, but now, due to the experiments it was subjected to by Rosus, the Usher of Death, the beast is now an amorphous mass of limbs in constant and unbearable pain.
It is said that this creature from the deepest depths of the sea, originated the Death Root, and through a mischievous deceit, Rosus poisoned the knife that killed Godwyn with its blood, without being noticed by neither Ranni or Rykard.
Surprisingly this boss drops a Remembrance:
“Remembrance of an ancient being, that seems to be resonating from a deep dark abyss, thanks to you it has finally found peace from its never ending torment”
This Remembrance can be given to Roderika ( now the scorched maiden) to obtain:
1- The token of respite: a token resembling a dead body with unnatural fish like feature, the craftsmanship used to create this sword is incomprehensible even to a Demi-god.
Can be used to power up death blight spells
2- Great Pillar hammer: an hammer made from the debris of an ancient pillar, representing scenes of skeletal mariners collecting dead bodies and taking them somewhere unknown.
Weapon art: Mariner’s wrath
The player slams the great hammer to the ground with as much strength as they can creating a powerful splash of water that pushes enemies away, dealing heavy damage to them.
After following a series of corridors that lead deeper below the catacombs, the player find themselves in what appears to be a giant prison like city, but after exploring for a while and reaching a big open area many limbs erupt from the once locked jail cells, giant fish tales rise from the water and finally a giant deformed head burst through an entire jail block, screaming in pain with an unnatural tone as if it was singing.
During the first phase of the fight the player attacks the tails coming from the water and the arms coming out close by, once a limb is destroyed, it will explode in miasma of death blight. during the fight small finger creepers might detach from smaller arms attached to the main ones, probably through grafting, showing how Rosus has used this being as a living garden to create his minions.
After a while the head will come down to attack by spewing death blight gas or straight up bite the player, similarly to the God devouring serpent.
Once the Living Torment is defeated the player can now search the arena and the prison for unique items, and a site of grace, which appears to be black, rather than gold
