It doesn't automagically update as soon as a new version is out. See the blog post at #dANotifier for ways to accelerate that.

A bit of a question here. A while back, the notifier could've been linked to an open tab of messages, and one click on said app could've brought you back to your open tab on Chrome, right?
Well, as of recent (probably since it updated), whenever I wish to check my messages or want to do it; the app opens up a new tab. It's a little odd because before the app was originally linked to any message tabs you had open, and now, even if you have a tab open on Chrome, it'll open up more. Worse when your computer has a bit of lag and you open like four new tabs...
So, my question is, is there going to be a fix for this problem in the future, or would you happen to have any tips on it?

Hello,
It's a recent bug that I am aware about. It is due to the fact that deviantART retired the my.deviantart.com domain.
The fix itself would be trivial, but due to changes to Chrome Web Store, I have to do substantially more work to update my extension. I promised a fix this week, but it seems like it won't happen - it was a VERY busy week. I'm very, very sorry about it.
For now, unfortunately there are no workarounds.
I'll ensure that it gets fixed next week when I return to my normal schedule.

What goes on is my extension expecting Message Center pages in my.deviantart.com domain, and they now get redirected to the main site.
This breaks two things:
1) reusing tabs,
2) (what's worse) marking messages as read when MC is opened/refreshed.

Well, I haven't had the read messages thing, that's been working loud and clear. The tabs thing, yes, as it opens up a new tab regardless of one open. So, if it's a server bug, well, I hope it gets fixed up sooner or later, as said.

im completely clueless as to what the aggregated tooltip even does. ive just recently enabled it and the only diffrence i seem to see is that sometimes the tooltip dosent even show up o_e

Well, nothing much then. It's been ages that tooltips on Win7 are bugged: they cannot display more than 5 lines. I know well about this, and cannot fix it.

There's another bug outside my control, that the notification window can appear behind the Chrome window. Though I cannot exclude that the notifications may have bugs. Thanks for the report.
