Description
Every now and then I like to do some a bit different. This piece was a study to remind me how something as "simple" as lighting can drastically change the feel of a scene.I want to thank Parrotdolphin. She was kind enough to let me use one of her pieces as a background image in this scene. [link] She was even kind enough to provide the povray code so I could render a higher resolution version.
Please stop by her gallery. She does a lot of interesting things with Apophysis, Ultrafractal, and Povray.

Amazing!
I like the contrast between the slightly overexposed highlight and the deep shadows.

the whole thing is cool, but i hust cant stop staring at her wings. awesome! delicate, but strong, like iron lacework. on that note, the lighting on the wings, compared to on her body seems a bit off, omehow, cant put my finger on it. might just be the colour contrast with the light on the different surfaces is unsettling. but anyways, !

Gorgeous character outfit. Definitely lighting can dramatically change the feel of a piece.
Interesting how you balanced the exposure so it's bordering on overexposed at some spots and nicely shaded at others so you see the detail on the wings

The shadow of the "wall" in the background. The whole piece kind of has feel of sitting outdoors with a very bright sun. The subject was partially placed in the shadow of a wall. This was actually an accident. I normally set the background prop to not generate shadows. I forgot to do that this time and I really liked the effect for this scene.

Holy cow!! Amazing **lighting** on this pic. Will Poser ever be able to render with lights like this?? Maybe on my dreams...

Lighting was the whole reason I quit using Firefly. It has real problems with speed, memory, and crashing when you start to get above 20 lights. Still, you can do some pretty amazing things if you have the patience. RNDA has some really nice HDRI lightsets for free that have 20 lights in them. you should check them out.

I am usually Ok with lame Poser lighting because Anime style doesn't require realism. Only a few times I need better light+shadows and end up rendering in Vue instead. But the GUI in Vue is v-e-r-y cumbersome and confusing, and positioning lights becomes more like a challenge than a task. Are those HDRI lights for Poser? Any links? ^^

The lighting IS nice. Like a ray from above. And those wings are killer, I luv 'em!
I didn't even register the background until I took the full view. I'm thrilled you could use it.
I wondered how you got the curve in it, but I think maybe you did that part in Poser?

The image is uv-mapped to a curved plane (DAZ Cyclorama).
And thank you for letting me use the piece! I like how the regular pattern gives the scene some depth.
