Description No... This doesn't mean I am back. Although, working on this piece has made me realize how much I miss making renders.

This piece was, originally, meant as a trial of the PovEdge tool. Unfortunately, the tool is just not there yet. I didn't want to leave her unfinished, so I had to fall back on my old techniques.

The only thing my eye can tell on first glance is 3D is the hair and face because it's too regular, other than that the effect could be used to fool someone into think they're looking at a hand done piece.

Hair is a real problem in trying to replicate hand painted work. I need to model some anisotropic lighting effects and my render engine doesn't support them...

I have some ideas on how to get around it though. I have just been to busy to try them out.

I have been surprised how often people do think they are looking at a hand drawn piece. I get a real kick out of when people give me drawing tips for these works.

Perhaps if you didn't go straight for the anime as a symetrical hair shape and use the influence of the "original" shape to mold several hair objects rather than single hair objects to make your pieces?

I hope that made sense ;

Hair has always been a problem since I've been so manga influenced, but now that I'm trying to see what the artist was seeing rather than copy what they drew, I'm having more success.

What I'm saying is break free of the "solid hair" object mold a bit. For instance each "bang" of her hair could be 3-5 hair objects rather than just one piece with the "line" effects. Hope that makes more sense @_@;;

Very cute! Girls with round glasses is a secret fetish with me. My first girl-friend was blonde with glasses like that! LOLOL She was twelve and I was twelve and I thought her boobs were like that, though they weren't. Ah, the hypnotic boobage.

I think Aiko4 is a huge improvement over A3, but I still have doubts if she can do pure Anime style like Madoka (and AD). In my personal experience I found A4 facial expressions somehow unusable because the teeth doesn't follow the shape or scale. What do you think?

My personal feeling is that Aiko4 is nothing more than V4 in disguise. As such, I have a real difficult time wanting to do anything anime with her.

This makes me really disappointed with the direction Daz3D went with her.

But A4 is indeed just a morph for V4, not a "figure" as A3 was. I initially thought that was great news for Poser developers (like myself) because whatever I create for V4 will also fit A4. But in reality mixing cumulative morphs cause enough mesh distortions that end up in unpredictable pokethrus - some quite serious at the legs and shoulders. In addition, A4 JCMs don't quite work well with V4 and vice-versa, again resulting in pokethrus. All of my attempts to create outfits for V4 and then expect it to work with A4 have issues when the figure is posed...
