Description
A PDC '03 inspired Windows Media Player style.This is for Windows Vista Service Pack 1 x86.
Install:
Take ownership of
C:\Windows\System32\wmploc.DLL
rename it to
wmploc.old
extract the one here into C:\Windows\System32\

it works with sp2, i have it on VMWare while computer is slow. i running on linux mint.

I followed the instruction, but it hasn't changed anything, wmp runs and looks as normal.

Are you running Vista? Also if you're on 64-bit Vista you have to replace the file in SysNative and make sure you open the 32-bit version of WMP rather than the x64 one.

So to all of you Customizers, with almost any sort of Windows Media Player: look for .wmz files, and try following this link to get some basic, and fully functional skins: [link]
But the best way to get there is to go to WMP, click on the Veiw menu (the one next to File, and you might have to make it appear first), choose 'skin chooser', and then click + More skins.
Lastly, double click the .wmz file to install it. And presto. Click Ctrl and 3 at any time to go back to the WMP Default player (for WMP 11 and 12) if you can't find the 'return to full mode' button.

A .wmz file is a Windows Media Player Skin Package. The professional ones (made by people like The Skins Factory) are like .zip files. They have all the icons and parts of the skin in them. Then there are ones that are a wmz file running the contents of a folder. But yours doesn't have a .wmz file so I think that Windows Vista and 7 won't run it. And I think the instructions you gave may prevent windows media player from working.
Please try to get help from someone who can make wmz files to make this awesome skin work

I no longer have Vista go I can't promise there will be an update. And if there was it would be for SP2 since it's been out for quite some time now and not SP1 with whatever update there was to change the version number.

I had Sp2 for awhile but it messed up my wmp..i couldn't copy music with wmp, burning suggeed but copying not..annoying problem, so that's why i use sp1 now.
It only said error when i tried to copy music, and i even tried with different cd's. Can you say how to fix this prob and then i can update to sp2.
