how does this multishellstyle work and how do i add it to my theme

longhornfusion In reply to BumbleBritches57 [2011-01-06 10:30:21 +0000 UTC]
It only uses one shellstyle. The multiple Details Pane and Command Bar takes a bit to explain so I'll just give you this link where someone already as and also includes a test theme: [link]

thanks man,
it is extremely difficult to find anything about multi shellstyle's
i will look to incorperating it into my theme,
but it depends how well it meshes with my design goals and how well it meshes and if it looks good.
thanks soo much

It's not a multi shellstyle. Shellstyle is a dll. You can only have one. NormalColor\shellstyle.dll. The detailspane and the command bar aren't shellstyles. They're Details Panes and Command Bars.

yeah i know that ive done some diving into those files too,

There is no brand name. A brand is the identity of a specific product, service, or business.

and thats what everyone identifies it as, therfore it IS a brand

That doesn't make it a brand. Also everyone is wrong.

I think this is really nice, man! But, I don't know how to applly the files you shared in this Beta!... Is there a tutorial (I know, sounds really lazy...) or some site where I can learn how to applly files like .BIN etc. into the system? It may seem a little stupid, but I could'n even find the most of the files to replace! Unless it's not a replacement we're dealing with, I guess there must be a way, like a software. Am I right?
Thanks for sharing and thank you in advance for your attention!
Regards!

Search for resource hacking tutorials. Essentially what you do is place the files into system dll files and replace its resources.

also , forgive me for my ignorence , but how do you open bin files???
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
longhornfusion In reply to jman6495 [2010-05-14 23:57:01 +0000 UTC]
You rename them to what they originally were then open them in whatever program handles that extension.

also , to install the resources , do you use Restorator or Resource Hacker to patch them?

longhornfusion In reply to jman6495 [2010-05-14 20:05:24 +0000 UTC]
I use restorator however it doesn't matter which you use.

dafmat71 In reply to longhornfusion [2010-05-18 19:51:52 +0000 UTC]
but with restorator: no need to rename .bin!

longhornfusion In reply to dafmat71 [2010-05-18 21:17:45 +0000 UTC]
I don't reshack, I use Ave's Resource Spy. And it needs to be in .bin. Hence why I didn't include the DLL files.

no, maybe this is a similar bug of the blank background on preview pane that was only on x86 system users. I assume you are on x86 like me.
