Description
A PDC '03 inspired Windows Media Player style.This is for Windows Vista Service Pack 1 x86.
Install:
Take ownership of
C:\Windows\System32\wmploc.DLL
rename it to
wmploc.old
extract the one here into C:\Windows\System32\

i use the white skinn and i saw that the time (when you hear a musik 00.00 --> 00.01 and so on)is white too. so you cant really see the time. now my question. what need i do to change the time from white to black?

I can't seem to get this to work...I replaced the file and everything just fine... File versions are compatible but when I open WMP it's just the same skin.

i have a simple solution too this problem.. rename the original file back to .dll and the new one frome here to .dll.old, might sound funny, but it works with me.

You need to change the fileversion number! there has been a update on windows media player, so the .dll file is now version 11.0.6001.7004
and this one is version 11.0.6001.7000
that means that it dont work no more
can you change it?

question, why not make it a regular skin for windows media player? as oppose to changing the .dll file?

After 15 minutes of trying to get the ownerships even with instructions and my vista saying I can't do it, there's no point of spending my whole day on it, when it's not even worth it.

For changing file version use "ResHacker" and paste all the matter of file version of original"wmploc.dll" to this new one.

(This does still work in 32bit btw!)
I renamed the wmploc.dll file wmploc-old.dll and then copied the new file to system32, closed media player in taskmanager, re-launched it and it worked perfectly.
