I discovered the wonderful Betty Page through the work of Dave Stevens, an artist who I greatly admired and whose work I love. Tragically we lost both of them last year and I started a little tribute piece, which then sat on my drawing table for months. Ran across it the other day and this joke just jumped out at me - so I adapted my original sketch and this is the result - a little gag and a tribute to the original and best queen of the pinup plus a thanks to everyone who's rummaged through my pictures, left comments and made me feel at home here on DA. The joke would work with 100 (betty) page views or 42000, but thank you everybody!Related content

I had a crush on curvy Bettie Page when I first saw her figure as a model for Secord's girlfriend on Dave Steven's "Rocketeer", back at the 80's.

Years ago I did a series of illustrations for a training video and based the female character on Ms Bettie Page.. not sure the client even knew who she was. They kept all the pictures - so this is the only one I have to show. Got to draw her again someday - just love her look, hair and ability to pose with such fun!

This is one of the BEST Bettie pics ever!
No one knows she was only 5'2" and most ppl draw her like she was 6'0" 
I think you have her proportioned to about 5'6"

Man, I didn't Dave Stevens had passed away. He was one of my alltime favorite artist. And Betty I knew she was gone, she's the one that got me started!

Yeah, Dave passed away in March last year and it was a sad day indeed. Underwoodbooks (same people who do the annual spectrum collections) came out with a fabulous book of his work recently called "the Art and life of Dave Stephens - Brush with passion" - check it out if you havent already - if your a Dave Stevens fan its a must see.
