Description Work in progresss.

Begun as a little tribute piece some 4 years ago (roughly about 28 dog years!) as a little nod to some of my childhood favourite artists - Frazetta, Boris, Buschema, Jusko to name a few. Sat incomplete on one of my hard drives all this time, and lately I've been sneaking in time to work on it some more. Its still incomplete, but I thought I'd post this character and a snippet from the background. Had a bunny rabbit tattoo on his shoulder, but decided against it for the moment.

I love this. Even though it's cartoon-ish, it's got that retro early 80's HeavyMetal magazine airbrushy fantasy look. . .I see more Ken Kelly in it than Frazetta. If you're not familiar with him, you should check out Ken Kelly's work, especially the Manowar covers he did. Cheers

Thanks! He uses a high protein/low carb diet has a three way body split workout routine and is a heavy believer in negative repping.

I love Conan, this is better than I've seen sence the first time I saw Frank Frazetta's Illustration of Conan atop the hill holding his sword down in the ground. funny or not this is over the top. I love this illustration.

I know both the alice ones you refer to - particularly liked the cat under the table on the latest one - but I must have missed the beatles one. I'm watching a lot of people and its so easy to miss pieces if I'm away from my computer, even for a short amount of time!

This is so fabulous. Really. Can't praise it enough, but I have a (possibly dumb) question:

The left deltoid shoulder is... too exaggerated? It juts out quite a bit from his skeletal structure. Or did you mean to do it that way? Everything else looks very balanced.

Thanks for your nice words and I'm not offended at all! There are a number of anatomical issues with this pic, particularlly the shoulder, but they are done for exageration and effect, rather than as mistakes. Actually the original pencil is more extreme, and unfortunately this finished piece lost a little of the craziness of my intitial workings. Thanks for the fave btw!
