Work in progresss.Begun as a little tribute piece some 4 years ago (roughly about 28 dog years!) as a little nod to some of my childhood favourite artists - Frazetta, Boris, Buschema, Jusko to name a few. Sat incomplete on one of my hard drives all this time, and lately I've been sneaking in time to work on it some more. Its still incomplete, but I thought I'd post this character and a snippet from the background. Had a bunny rabbit tattoo on his shoulder, but decided against it for the moment.

Digital painting is something I am very interested in learning, so from my non-experience to achieve the painterly look and transitions in hues/tones/values would take forever with what I know of PS. A beautiful painting, great job.

Thanks! Yeah, I calculated I've probably spent about 40-50 hours so far on this figure alone - painted quite large and spent a far bit of time on detail that probably doesnt show up that much at this scale.

Trust me it shows, it literally has a painted quality to it. When I look at it I definitely get the boris vallejo feel from it, not in terms of style of course as your figure is distorted, but the paint application. The transitions are superb, trust me it shows.
