Description
Day two of my own personal 'How fast is your spaceship?' week of scifi nerdiness. Today, Star Trek...When I first left home, a friend lent me the entire run of Star Trek Next Gen and that was it, I was hooked (never had TV growing up and no movies... and been trying to make up for it ever since
Someone needs to create a new Star Trek series for TV I say!
Pencil, ink on paper, Paint in photoshop.

I love this. Your work not only looks great, it also demonstrates how much fun art can be. I'm excited to see what your next piece will be.

Thanks Matthew... and I'm a big fan of having fun with art. I'll leave all that 'tortured artist' stuff for someone else I think

Well my car can hit Warp 10! The downside is I end up arriving before I leave. Plus I get turned into a fish.

I didn't get to see the original series until last year, so my first ST love is Next Gen... but I can see why it holds a special place in peoples hearts
Didn't have a TV until I left home, but I think I've done a pretty good job of making up for it since then
Cheers!

A new Star Trek series would be amazing, I'd be happy continuing where DS9, Voyager, TNG left off. Not sure about what it would be like if they continued from the alternate universe stuff in the movies. Lets hope!Β

I am loving the caricatures on these. Also I only just noticed the patterns on the hull.
Looking forward to seeing what ships / series you choose for the rest of the week.
(I'm hoping for Babylon 5, but it's not based around a ship like Star Trek is.)

Loopydave In reply to Stevan29 [2014-12-09 02:56:06 +0000 UTC]
Thanks! And yes, Babylon 5 was more about the station than any ship in particular so I probably won't be doing that show for this series.

Thanks! He does have an interesting nose - though its not unique... Both Lore andΒ Dr Noonien Soong had ones that looked exactly the same

I hear B4 was a pretty good likeness too! Thankfully at least Juliana Soong had a more petite version. Good thing Spiner didn't play ALL the Soong family members

About the idea of the new TV series: I'm quite sure that they are not able to make a great series again. Just take a look for the new movies, not the same experience... Β

.... so funny and it made my day!
And you are probably right about the TV show... the world doesn't seem as interested in Star Trek style of optimism as it used to be.

Someone needs to create a new Star Trek series for TV? Β How about an old one being continued? Β "Star Trek Continues" carries on where the original series left off. Β New episodes are being produced at a slow, but regular pace. Β Check out it out on Vimeo or YouTube, but only after having seen the original series first though.

I have seen the original series.... I need to check that out! My internet connection is pretty terrible and watching video of any length is a pretty bad experience though. Any chance they will be putting it on DVD?
