The "On the Buses" box set I did the artwork for finally got released in Australia and I think Beyond Entertainment did a great job on the packaging. Was quite chuffed to see they even used the artwork on the discs and in the onscreen menus. Ignore the not so great quality of the photos and you can see better views of the painted characters [link][link]

Definitely one of the more enjoyable jobs I've worked on, but then I do tend to enjoy my work most of the time anyway

Cheers man! Cant really take any credit for the actual packaging - just painted the stuff the art director asked me to (5 sides of the bus, lamp posts characters etc) but its really nice when the art and packaging compliment each other so well.

I know I am a sucker for packaging and it is great artwork like this that gets me every time. It makes a big difference when you have it on your shelf for years that it is something eyecatching and good to look at. I have only seen a few episodes but the faces and characters were so easily recognisable. Excellent job.

Dave, Kudos and congratulations! I saw those in your gallery and thought they were great. Even better to see them on a product, really means something! Great news from my favorite artist.
I already told you that "Magic Brew" is my new wallpaper in place of my daughters ballet pic. (It's ok, she loves that one too and she's a big fan of your girls with dancer legs, your her favorite artist too!) Sorry, I digress.

What I like the best about your work is how much
personality and presence you give your characters!
Makes them very real.
I would so love that, walking into a supermarket
and have some of my favourite food have illustrations
I had done... I think I would get some sort of excitement
overload and keel over.

They always show the next issues cover in a small format
on the subscription page. It is awesome looking! 
Modesty looks fantastic in white, which is a surprise to
me really since I always picture her in black. White makes
her look even more dramatic.

She appears in white a bit in that issue, and it helps her stand out against the samurai. Did feel a little wrong not to paint her in a black outfit though!

Definitely a fun gig. I'd never seen the show before I got the job, but sat down and watched most of one season in a day to get a handle on the characters and their signature expressions. Was very British, 'how's your father' stuff!
