Description Fairly closeup detail from cover art - when I went to finish off the face I decided I rather liked having a little of the pencil showing through and consequently its probably not as polished as normal. Spent a whole day painting the helmet - bought it at an army disposal store and stuck it on my desk as I worked, to get the details right. Those things are surprisingly heavy!

Its a cool helmet alright. Got a cupboard full of costume extras for reference like that - top hat, pith helmet... but my favourite is a full metal replica viking helmet I got from a client for some work.

I actually bought that helmet as reference, and painted it with it sitting on my desk. Surprisingly heavy, but I suppose they need to be!

I tend to dabble in a few different styles - it stops the boredom - but I really like exagerated semi-realistic stuff myself.
