Commission for of my evil/corrupted Princess Celestia (Magmare Sun) having defeated Princess Twilight Sparklebeen a long while since i last drew Magmare
While Nightmare Moon was egomaniacal and gloating, Magmare Sun seems curiously devoid of any emotion, save for a vague fascination with watching ponies burn alive.
idk how long it took to draw this but i went through a looooot of episodes of kitchen nightmares while working on it

Poor Twilight. It's one thing to fight world-destroying evils when they're impersonal threats from the distant past, but to have to see her own beloved mentor turn evil, and fight her, and lose... I mean, that's not just some random monster or demon, that's Celestia. The cognitive dissonance alone must be unbearable.
As a side note, I wasn't immediately convinced by the burnt-brown color of her coat, but, thinking about it, it makes a lot of sense.

Magmare Sun- Such a shame, Twilight. I expected more of a fight. This is regretful, but the game must come to an end. (powers up her magic while Twilight can do nothing but wait for her death ro come)

Oh, I feel bad for all the restaurant owners that Ramsey yells at. Sometimes they do need to hear it, but...well, I'm a teacher, I'm all about holding people's hands and gently telling them stuff they need to change, not screaming abuse at them in a Scottish accent. It does make for good TV, but I find myself empathizing with the owners, I mean who wouldn't get defensive if they were attacked like they do?
Poor Amy. All she wanted was to sell cakes and love her cats, now the whole country has crowned her as Queen Nutjob. Sure she couldn't take criticism, but she's probably never had a friend so much as telling her the food tastes a little off, so how could she react to Ramsey calling the food garbage? :/ I saw Amy's husband was much more to blame for the restaurant's failings, everybody just latched onto crazy Amy.

Holy crap. So Magmare seems far more powerful than Nightmare, but at the cost of being a less interesting antagonist? All right, that's fair.

It really depends one what you think of as an interesting antagonist. I think Magmare would be a very intimidating baddie and provide a different challenge than most. Plus sometimes a villain who possesses such a magnitude of power but being incredibly cold and destructive could be utterly terrifying.ย

Terrifying, definitly. Powerful, absolutely. But you need to ask yourself: why? Because one of the things that can make or break a villain is motive; if a villain wants to take over the world, conquer the world, or enslave humanity because why not, it leaves (at least me personally) with a certain sense of unfulfillment. There are antagonists like Flowey/Asriel who are evil as hell but have an interesting backstory, there are bad guys like Jack from Borderlands 2 who is absolutely infuriating and a douche and that completely ruins his character for me, and there are villains like Dr. Nefarious from Ratchet and Clank who was evil but also funny to laugh at and could never be taken too seriously even when he threatened to turn every living creature into a robot.
If there isn't a good reason why Magmare exists other than because she wants to hurt people, that loses some points for me.

Yes, possibly, but think about it like this: Magmare wants to engulf all of Equestria in flames, born ponies to death and watch them die slowly... what does that sound like to you? Because to me it sounds like just a larger scale version of some kid with a magnifying glass burning ants for fun. It's a reason, sure, but there's no good reason for her to want to do it other than the fact that she's a fucking psychopath.

I believe in multiverse theory. I.e because Loppoddity created the concept she could exist in an alternate dimension, any idea that can exist will exist and a lot of universes exist because one desicion got changed and therefore so did thousands of lives.

Well... i'd like to believe that the world is one big scale with equal amounts of good and evil, however everyone else seems intent on proving me wrong. I mean I know a lot of good people but that doesn't seem to mean much in the grander scheme of things so... i'm a bit on the fence about that one.

Possibly. Though I have to say I like villains like this at times which is why I commissioned the pic (and also just the design Lopoddity did for her is amazing). I appreciate villains who are inhuman to a degree where they view beings with less power than them like playthings or almost barely worth acknowledgement, only for the hero/heroine or the like to face this seemingly insurmountable challenge and defeat it. One villain that kind of comes to mind for me was the Demonic Original Shredder from the 4kids TMNT series. Again though, it's just a matter of opinion and to each their own.
