Description This is NOT a photomanipulation in any way. Only toning in PS.

Mother Nature always seems to get a leg up. No matter how hard we try to put her down, she always seems to have a way of creeping back up.

Taken at one of the temples in Ankgor Wat in Cambodia (largest religious ruins in the East). The trees have grown so large that they hold up the ruins. This picture is of a tree larger than life crawling up the side of the temple.

Almost looks like a human form. Very nice perspective here. I compliment you as a lot of people cann't really do that. Go out and just find something that looks like something else. Great job with it.

While being incredibly hard to comment after so many people already have, I have a lot of the same thoughts. The form of the branch is just amazing and this should be a smack in the face to any one who sayd that nature doesn't live.

the way you composed this, cropping the tree to this form, reminds me of the paleolithical (I think) figures of the "mother", those famous, rounded images of womanly fertility so abbundant at the time.

Even the tone reminds me of that clay... Quite precious indeed.

Awesome. You Have the eyes to see what we can't see in such details of mother-nature. Its like that. For example, they are the ones who still can see incredible things in the clouds, and the others who lost this little part of imagination whit which everyone of us born. Thx for this shot .

Thought this was a sculpture at first. Very interesting shot, I really like the way you cropped it. Makes it be not so clear as to what it really is, lets you imagine more. Has the whole Nature vs. Industry thing...except with a much more ancient theme of course. Reminder that the cycle has been going on since the beging of man.

The Banyan trees offer sometimes such incredible features... It's a deep meaning of what life can do, struggling, crawling and hoping...
Mother Nature is wonderful, but your picture too : tones are great, contrast just as needed.
Wood and stone together binded into an everlasting tango...

you cant really tell what it is. perhaps you whoudl have included some objects that convey the size of everything and put it into proportion.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

lorrainemd In reply to dashatron [2004-03-11 11:50:01 +0000 UTC]

objects?????? i guess, but this is a temple...you are not allowed to touch anything...or at least not supposed to. i guess a beer sitting on the 'ass' would be funny, but i think the picture speaks for itself. scale seems very secondary to form.
