Ok... first thing I did was my research... I scoured the net, the watched the videoes 50 times with the pause button going nuts and had a few friends help me get some good captures from the DVDs (thanks ~psychodan ) and made my concept. I wanted to make a diarama of that scene at the end of BTTF2 with Marty hanging from the flags... Here's the concept I came up with: [link]I opened the box and pulled out all the pieces. This didn't looks like it was gonna be too difficult at all to build and I grabbed my trusty X-atco knife and began cutting along the recessed door lines. I kept scraping away with the dull side of the knife putting a little pressure on it because along the window there is a very thin strip of plastic... thank god I was able to get it all off without breaking that thin strip. Here you can see the door finally removed from the body. I sanded down all the rough edges as good as possible before setting it aside and working on the next step.
