It really commands the whole city doesn't it. What an amazing icon. Excellent shot.

Lovely shot I like the one with the border more, thouh. It crops it closer to the subject, ridding it of negative space.

No... I wouldn't crop it at all... it would just have a border... and I still don't agree with you on negative space.

Well, to each their own. Make of you want this next part. I'm not here to abash your photography, just here to give you friendly pointers The generally accepted rule of art, to make a balanced drawing/photograph, one should have equal parts of positive and negative space. Again, not here to offend. You take very nice pictures (especially of fish^^). Just giving some critique. I'm sure you'd do the same thing for my writing (even though no amount of teaching/critiques could save my writings from the recycling bin)

Ha! Thanks for the tips, Kate. I have never taken lessons in photography and therefore know little of the art. I just enjoy taking photos and worry that, by taking any class, I will lose my own touch... Just a fear I always had. Even years of English classes could never change how I write but only change how I use my grammer. Thanks again!

You're welcome. I was hoping that you wouldn't take it as an insult. Glad that you didn't. For me, art classes help to strengthen my style, no one can take your own personal style away from you and that's what I love. Every master artist (Van Gogh, Dali, etc.) all studied and copied another master's work. Then they devolped their a style all their own.

PS.... I have the que tomorrow at work.. I'm nervous. I hope that I still work there after this is all said and done -_-
