Description “A new day marches forth and with that it brings us Dunes. Fun fact, these guys were originally supposed to be day 20 with the True Dragons on day 53. I changed it. In order to bring the glory of the True Dragons to you sooner.”
“Dune; [Doon]”
“Dune isn’t a specific race of individuals as one may think, rather they are a subset of species with little to no subvariants that all exclusively occupy the deserts of Estea. Although more of classification of several creatures, Dunes are fairly intriguing in abilities and behavior. With each variant being resistant to extreme heat and exceptionally powerful in their own right. Incredibly potent in magical capability and remarkably spiritually inclined, Dunes are renowned for each variant having an interesting sthitck to them. Dunes are not only skilled in Divine Magic, but some even commune with the Angels above. Isn’t that something! Moreover, the Dunes all share incredibly lengthy lives, with some being immortal. On all accounts these creatures are mythic if not legendary, and are often regarded as such by other species of Estea, leaving a surprisingly large cultural impact on many cultures and histories of the societies and civilizations. Currently the Dunes consist of two rare Beastfolk and one rare Spectral.”

“Tombed; [Toomed]”
“An ancient specter, the Tombed are only found in the depths of the sands. Locked away in graves and tombs. The Tombed vary in size, with their average height ranging from 5 feet or 1.52 meters to 12 feet or 3.66 meters. Not to be confused with mummies, which are simply regional Undead, the Tombed are ancient ghosts fueled by greed and anger. Physically they can alter their appearance, but their true form is a mummified Humanoid with 4 shadowy arms and adorned with red eyes. Immensely powerful with a multitude of Abyssal and Terra Magic spells and psionic attacks at its disposal, Tombed are locked away in lavish graves and caves to keep them from escaping to the surface. It is believed that Tombed were once Humans, as they display Human-like behavior when calm, this theory also explains their control of seemingly random and specific items. As a Tombed seems to have complete control over the items they were buried with. Socially, Tombed are both solitary and incredibly hostile, attacking anyone who dares to enter their domain or take their items. Although they rarely interact with anyone, Tombed seems to be fond of Whisps.”

“Jackal; [Jak-uhl]”
“The most commonly seen member of the Dunes, the Jackal is a special type of Lupine Beastfolk only found in the desert. Most Jackals have an average lifespan of 90 years and reach adulthood at age 18, however some are effectively immortal. Moreover, a majority of Jackals have an average height of 6 feet and 6 inches or 1.98 meters, but on rare occasions these Beastfolk can reach heights of 12 feet and 6 inches to 3.81 meters with only a few recorded to be 30 feet or 9.14 meters in height. With all this said, Jackals are a species that vary in physical abilities, with some being much stronger than others. Physically, Jackals are slender in build, bearing animalistic legs, tail, and eyes, but keep Humanoid hands. Jackals are remarkably agile, able to balance themselves on their tail. Additionally, they are remarkably cunning and well skilled in Terra, Divine, and Galern Magic. However their most mythical attribute they have is their divine connection with both Cerasus and Isaeus, the twin gods of the gateway. High ranking Jackals are able to interact with them directly and assist in deciding the fate of the individuals who cross them. Socially, Jackals are fairly laid back individuals, preferring to live in large communities together. In Dunic civilizations, higher ranging Jackals would serve as guards or direct advisors to the legendary Sphinxes. Jackals have a fondness towards other Lupine Beastfolk and the general tourists that approach their civilizations.”

“Sphinx; [Sfingks]”
“The rarest, strongest, and most recognized member of the Dunes, the Sphinxes are a legendary Beastfolk variant that is only found in the sandy deserts of Estea. Sphinxes are similar to Jackals, as there are two main subvariants, Minor Sphinxes and Mythic Sphinxes. Minor Sphinxes have an average lifespan of 90 years and reach adulthood at 18, while Mythic Sphinxes are immortal. Moreover, Minor Sphinxes have an average height of 6 feet and 6 inches or 1.98 meters, with Mythic Sphinxes ranging from 66 feet or 20.12 meters to the massive 240 feet or 73.15 meters. Physically, Sphinxes bear animalistic arms, tails, and ears; with unique glistening wings. Immensely strong, Sphinxes are well versed in Divine and Terra Magic. Moreover, they are incredibly intelligent and strategic, with many ruling Dunic civilizations due to this. Like Jackals, Sphinxes are very spiritual inclined, with all Sphinxes having a deep connection to not only Index and Rachnera, but the Anicent Aminamelia as well. Sphinxes are tasked with keeping order of their civilizations and often decide to help adventurers and heroes in their quest. Socially, Minor Sphinxes live in large groups with Mythic Sphinxes living in solace or in the company of Jackals. Although stern and cold, Sphinxes are known to be playful and kind to those that show them respect, with the race having a deep fondness for riddles and games. Sphinxes enjoy the presence of Elementals, Titans, and Jackals.”

“The Dunes of Estea are folk that thrive in the extreme heat and portray interesting capabilities, but their most interesting attribute surrounding them is their obscure ability to tie in with a majority of different species. Both historically and culturally, the Dunes have impacted or interacted with almost every species and major civilization on Estea. Dunic civilizations are remarkable cultural hot spots, always bustling with life and inhabitants from all reaches of the world. A majority of the top trading civilizations are Dunic civilizations.”
