Description
“A new day marches forwards, as today is the 28 consecutive day of the Creature Feature! Today we will be discussing the Draconic, the long descendants of the mighty dragons.”“Draconic; [Druh-kon-ik]”
“Sharing the most similarities with the Reptilians, The Draconic are more the newer generation of True Dragons, although not bearing the same levels of power their predecessor had, a Draconic should not be overlooked. Especially with their history and culture so intertwined with the True Dragons, Draconics are an important note in Estea’s history as they are the link between the ancient era and the current era.”
“Draco; [Draco-ko]”
“The first and roughly the most Dragon-like of the Draconic. Draco are often found in the same locale as their Dragon predecessor. Dracos have an average and lengthy lifespan of 1200 years with a maturation age at 20. Additionally, they have an average height of 7 feet and 2 inches or 2.18 meters, although their physicalities differ based on other factors. Said factors consist of the True Dragon variant and magic form of their parent or predecessor. Dracos can have vastly different appearances nonetheless, as the ratio of Humanoid to Dragon-like varies in percentage and location intensity. Typically Dracos are more Dragon-like than Humanoid. Moreover, Dracos would maintain the ability of flight much more often then the other Draconic variants. Socially, Dracos live their life in very similar fashions to True Dragons whereas they retain the most of their True Dragon culture and social habits. Dracos live close lives with the True Dragons whether it be an offspring to parent or student to teacher relationship depends on the individual.”
“Dragonborn; [Drag-uhn-bawrn]”
“The most common variant of the Draconic, the Dragonborn, they can live most anywhere except for extreme climates. Dragonborns have an average lifespan of 85 years with reaching adulthood at 15. They have an average height of 6 feet and 6 inches or 1.98 meters. Physically, they are the most Dragon-like in appearance. Similar to Caimen, Dragonborn are covered in scales with their head shape dependent on the variant of True Dragon they came from. In similar fashion, Dragonborn will have their predecessor’s respective breath magic as well, to a lesser extent of course. Socially, Dragonborns are the most distant of their Dragon heritage, typically living amongst themselves or in civilizations. Dragonborns have no ill will towards the Draconic or the True Dragons, they are rather indifferent, say for their enjoyment of the Reptilian and Caimen.”
“Chimera; [ki-meer-uh]”
“A unique species to not only the Draconic, but to Estea in general. A Chimera can live in most any environment, but preferably canyons or deserts. A Chimera has a lengthy lifespan of 1000 years on average, with a short maturation age at 12 years. A Chimera’s physicalities vary heavily based on circumstance and individual, however a rough average height can be taken to be 6 feet and 2 inches or 1.88 meters. A Chimera’s physical traits are based on its parents and lineage, as a Chimera is created when a different species with discernible traits bear a child with a Dragon species. For example, my parents were a Draco and Scorp, as such, I have inherited both Draco and Scorp traits from each. Due to their Dragon constant, Chimeras will always bear some physical aspect of them, and the respective magic breath from their Dragon lineage. Socially, Chimeras live with their parents until matured, as the species is dependent on them to learn about their capabilities. Otherwise, Chimeras are very social living in any group that would take them in. Moreover, Chimeras are a rarity and a specialty, often receiving special treatment from other races and civilizations, whether positive or negative. I have only one child of mine born to be a Chimera, and he’s all grown up technically, but as a victim of circumstance, he’s a special case.”
“Kobold; [koh-bold]”
“Often mistaken for being simple reptiles, Kobolds are the forgotten members of the Draconic species, in a technical sense. Kobolds are almost as common as Goblins, living in caves, forests, grasslands, canyons, and deserts. Kobolds have a surprising average lifespan of 120 years with a maturation age at 6. However, is it almost as rare as encountering a Phoenix in an ice storm to see a Kobold reach that age, as they often die young due to their nature and social perception. Kobolds have an average height of 2 feet and 10 inches or 0.86 meters. Although a taboo topic amongst Kobolds, Kobolds aren’t actually Draconic, well they are about as Draconic as a Human population have royal blood in each of them. It is only due to recent social and political events that they are now classified as such. Physically they are scrawny and quick, with a keen sense for traps. Otherwise they bear no discernible trait with their True Dragons predecessors and are rather similar to goblins. Socially, Kobolds are highly social creatures, always in a group of at least 3. They make tribes and civilization nearby or at a True Dragon den, as Kobolds deeply worship them. Rightfully so.”
“Adorabold [Uh-dawr-uh-bold]”
“Often confused for being Kobolds themselves, Adorabolds are vastly similar to Adorablins. Adorabolds strictly live in civilizations and urban environments. Adorabolds have an average lifespan of 100 years with a maturation age at 12. Moreover, Adorabolds have an average height of 4 feet and 2 inches or 1.27 meters. Similar to the aforementioned Adorablins, Adorabolds are the result of an adaptation some Kobolds had in a similar fashion to Goblinoids. They are just as Draconic as Kobolds and are paired here for the same reason. Physically, Adorabolds are much rounder and softer than Kobolds, with a more snake-like texture in contrast to Kobolds’ rougher scales. An Adorabold can be found by the spots on their skin in place of horns and spikes. They are just as quick and cunning as Kobolds, with a similar pack mentality to boot. Socially, Adorablods live similar to Adorablins, with the exception made for the former’s knack for living in groups of at least 3. They still keep their devotion to True Dragons which is nice.”
“The Draconic are an all round cool race, with many aspects to set each apart while still tying them together. Culturally we Draconics serve as the constant between other races and the True Dragons, and it is our responsibility to bridge to the eras together. Nonetheless, there isn’t a dull moment around when a Draconic is by your side.”
