Description
“Today brings us a very well known race, a race that deserves the merit it receives. The Goblinoids.”“Goblinoid; [gob-lin-oid]”
“Ah the Goblinoid, such a versatile race, the survivalist with poor survivability. Also one of the most racially profiled species in Estea. Goblinoids have a tendency of generally being a nuisance, typically using their public opinion to their advantage. Their physical traits vary vastly from variant to variant, their only similarities is culture and social behavior. Overall the species is very chaotic and self centered.”
“Goblin; [Gob-lin]”
“The classic Goblin, an incredibly recognizable species. Goblins can be found literally anywhere, the little guys are incredibly versatile. Goblins have an average lifespan of 60 with a quick maturation at 8, however outside forces may affect a Goblin’s lifespan. They have an average height of 3 feet and 3 inches or 0.99 meters. Physically they are small and quick, and highly dexterous. Outside of their comically large ears, not much to note than what is already known about Goblins. Socially they live in tribes or packs, as they thrive off of unprofessional familiar bonds. Goblins enjoy Orcs and Kobolds as they often share a bond together.”
“Adorablin; [Uh-dawr-uh-blin]”
“A cousin to Goblins, the Adorablin is an amazing variant of Goblinoids originally spurred from an adaptation fairly recently. Adorablins strictly live in civilizations and urban environments, almost never composed of their own race. Adorablins have an average lifespan of 82 with a maturation of 18, Adorablins also have an average height of 4 feet 5 inches or 1.35 meters with some variation. Physically unique to other Goblinoids, this variant evolved the way of the common pigeon. Adapting a cute appearance and behavior as a way to survive parasitically from other races. As such, they are much more humanoid, bearing more hair than the often than not hairless Goblins. Although not a deadly adversary, Adorablins should not be underestimated from their survival tactic, as they are remarkably smart and quick witted, with more tricks up their sleeve than a typical Goblinoid. Socially, Adorablins typically live in public spaces with lots of foot traffic, generous civilians, or rich civilians. They hate the presence of their other Adorablins, as they are more often than not competitors, however their upper class is determined by which Adorablins that live in homes of civilians, seen as roommates rather than a nuisance. Interestingly enough, the idea of living inside homes in secret never crosses their minds as an option. Adorablins have a good relationship with Dwarves and Humans, but poor relations with Elves. Based on the longer lifespan and overall higher survival rate Adorablins have than other Goblinoids, gobologists believe that Adorablins may be the next step in overall Goblinoid evolution and survival.”
“HobGoblin; [Hob-gob-lin]”
“Living in forests or civilizations, HobGoblins are considered the nicest variant of Goblinoids, relatively speaking of course. They have an average lifespan of 80 with a maturation at 16. HobGoblins have an average height of 6 feet and 4 inches or 1.93 meters. Physically, HobGoblins have vastly different builds than other Goblinoids, built in a nature similar to Orcs rather than Goblins, with reddish skin rather than the typical green. They have traded the traditional speed for strength, but they still are cunning. A major behavioral difference HobGoblins have is that they are much more noble, fearing cowardice more than death, almost the opposite when compared to other Goblinoids. Socially, HobGoblins live in their own civilizations, preferring to keep to themselves, but they are not lonesome, as they often attack other civilizations in raids. HobGoblins dislike most, if not all, other races.”
“BuggedBear; [Buhgd-bair]”
“Ah. This one. In a disturbing play of words, the BuggedBear follows similarly to 5/4 Orcs. No one really knows where they originate, however they can be found almost anywhere, excluding extreme environments. BuggedBears have an average lifespan of 60, with a late maturation at 20. Their average height varies around 7 feet and 1 inch or 2.16 meters. Physically, they are muscular in build, with long arms. BuggedBears bear bear like fur, but their most pressing feature is the bug parts strewn about their bodies. Most of them have large pincers and antennae, alongside large wings. However, these features are randomized, with some having more features simply growing out of them in random locations. Truly disturbing is their social behavior and implications, BuggedBears are ruthless, but not mindless, as they can be seen brutally attacking their head and insect features. This alongside the horrifying fact that traditional BugBears are nigh extinct, implies that something horrible happened to BugBears at a species size scale. No one really knows what happened regarding BuggedBears, but do you know what I think? I think that this was not a mutation of an unfortunate couple as the public idea entails, but rather something purposely caused this. Be it either in a lab or something more...grim, BuggedBears were made as a direct cause of someone. All that remains is who and why, but you didn’t hear this from me.”
“Goblinoids are a relatively well known and easily identifiable species, with many assuming they already know what to expect. However, the cosmos never exists in absolute, they are Goblinoids that simply enjoy living their best life, others that want to live lives of others, some that want to end lives, and those who only want to remember their old lives. Whatever the case may be, Goblinoids as a species is an example that vastly different physicalities, behaviors, and morals can still fall under one species.”
