Description
24x24 acrylic and ink on canvas. After working on smooth surfaces I had the urge to return to a textured canvas. I am incorporating more line work with the eye dropper.Related content

The mix of textures is great, it gives a real sense of depth and a 'story' to the image. The strong reds and browns also make the title very appropriate.

How are you doing this? i could never be so bold and so artistic. You're simply great at what you do.

I use acrylic inks. By letting them blend, I feel that they generate more beautiful patterns than I could hope to achieve by hand. Sometimes I combine them with more directly painted elements, and always try to apply them with patterns of light and dark in mind to create interesting compositions.

red moons that drizzle tentacles... the backdrop looks like the fine veins of many leaves...
wonderfully abstract.
well done.
