Software used: Apophysis I've been working on my first fractal tutorial ever and this thing... surfaced. There's a tentacle-ish underwater vibe to it (IMO) - possibly The Handmaiden left even deeper mark on my psyche then I care to admit. So yeah, tutorial is coming, I already spent like 10 hours working on it so there's no way it's going to stay unpublished. It needs some further refining, so I'll upload it either later this week or next monday. I planned on getting a few lab rats (aka fractal artists) to test it first but I don't want to burden anyone, therefore it's gonna be open beta for anyone and everyone.

I found this image in the Xtreme Fractals Apophysis gallery. It immediately captured my eye with the curving wave of 'lavender lighting clouds'. The blurry orbs add to the feeling that you are being sprayed with washes of electric supersolid cloud froth. It looks like it might taste like lemon flavored cotton candy. The asymetry is very important and was applied well to lead the eye over the lavender curves and back in to the middle where the green star is another focal point. It looks a bit like a shamrock and adds to the magical feeling of the artwork. The darker blues help to reinforce the lavender clouds and strengthen their wave effect. I would have liked to see more of them placed on top as if they were stars in the sky.

I really like the luminous waves. The wave forms remind me of those fantastic tsunamis on Japanese art. If I were a surfer, I've be grabbing my silver board.
