Description

The Warlock is unequivocally the most devastating war machine produced in Earth history to date.

The official Alpha model of the Warlock included several technologies provided by the Interstellar Alliance, such as improved sensors and artificial gravity. Those prototypes already in existence before these abilities became available were quickly recalled and refitted to include them. It is rumored that the most prominent technology was the use of Shadow bio-organic materials in design and production.

While the Warlock was originally intended to replace the Omega Destroyer, that idea was flawed and has since been dropped. Instead, the Warlock is now designed to lead squadrons of Omegas into battle. The Warlock would be a dreadnought in anyone else's fleet, and is now considered an apt replacement for the aging Nova class. The Warlock mounts a variety of weapons previously felt to have been wasteful or difficult to support. Some of the technologies provided by the Interstellar Alliance eased these difficulties, returning these weapons (such as laser/pulse arrays and railguns) to favor.

The EA is presently working on improvements to these devices, such as advanced railguns. The main guns of the Warlock are heavy particle cannons, weapons so large they normally appeared only on fixed defensive installations. Capable of destroying enemy capital ships in a single volley, they are certainly weapons to be feared (despite their limited firing arcs). Their main disadvantage is an extremely low rate of fire. Often a Warlock captain will deactivate these guns after their first shot, using the power to boost his sensors for the remainder of the battle.

The Warlock Advanced Destroyer had the following armament:

-Two Heavy Particle Cannons.
-Four Railguns.
-Eight Laser/Pulse Arrays.
-Six Interceptors Mark-II.
-Eight Particle Beam Turrets.
-Two Class-LH Missile Racks.
-Two Class-L Missile Racks.

It could also deploy four flights of fighters, usually advanced Thunderbolts. Additionally two shuttles were present.

The Warlock Class Advanced Destroyer is from Babylon 5, it appears in limited scenes from Season 5 and beyond.
