another illustration assignment. i'm getting lucky with assignments lately!the story of the raven and the fox. and the cheese of course.
in the version we received they addressed each other as 'sir raven' and 'sir fox' and i couldn't help but picture them as people..and i was a little tired of drawing animals. wanted to give it that old print feel in color :]
tree looks like a bar. fox looks like he's not really leaning on it. raven looks high as a cloud. hmm.
pencil on brown paper and photoshop for quick color...should this be under digital? i didn't think so, but i'm not sure.

It looks like something right out of an old fairy tale book I had when I was little. Love it. You can almost smell that old-book-smell and hear the crinkle of the pages. Beautiful.

This is brilliant, I love the personification you've given them! How the 'fox' has black sleeves and stocking-thingies like a fox' markings and even the shape of his body reminds me of one xD! Beautiful!

Amazing work. I love how the shading/ colorscheme and paper all contribute to the feel of a fable. You have inspired me to work on my comic again, especially since the main character is Gerard Renard
