Final step of the healing, now let time do its thing..It still hurts so badly though...
I love you Prince.
Rest in peace baby.
In my gut I felt like I needed to do this. For myself and him.
I'm going frame shopping tomorrow, before I leave for the week, and its being hung where I'll be able to see it, every morning when I wake up.
This still needs a tiny bit of work though, mostly with the background.
I can't even begin to explain how much better it looks in life though. I'm really starting to despise both my scanner and camera.
I chose to use my pastels and velour paper for this personal piece because of the softer quality of the art, dreamy almost.
And finally, this means so, so much to me, comments are extremely appreciated but critiques will not be dealt with kindly.

You know, the blurry picture enhances the dreamy-esque look, which is really nice. (:
In regards to the content... I think the circular/oval, but open-ended background really makes the picture feel like an honoured portrait. It makes it look professional, if that makes sense. He looks like a true prince. :> It's a great detail.
Of course, Prince himself is magnificently done. The layers and precision and tones are perfect. The fur looks so incredibly soft... He's beautiful, and I'm certain you did him justice.
I'm pretty sure everyone can really feel the love you put into this. It makes my heart tug.

My God ! You lost your cat, it's so sad, when we have pet, we have so many habits with him/her, as the spot for its food... I lost my cat 5 years ago, she was old, I was kid when she entered in our life, and even if I have actually a new cat, I still miss my precious friend. I made big parts of my life with her.
Your drawing is a so beautiful tribute for Prince.

Well, we're not really sure what happened. This may sound a little graphic, but we found her in the back yard one morning and her neck was broken and she was quite bloodied up. It could have been a fight with a dog or a raccoon.. But I'd had her for years, I was very sad to see her go, especially like that.

I have pets too... My cat was a marmalade-colored one with a white chest and really cute white paws... And then it died...

I feel sorry for your loss, I lost my cat Loki not too long ago, and I was so thrilled to find out that my other cat Beyonc'e had another litter of kittens that were his. I hope your heart heals, and I wish the best for your cat's soul, and for you.

Great job! My condolences on your loss. My cat Fluffy passed on a few months ago and I still walk out in the morning expecting to see her waiting for me outside my door like she used to. It still hurts but now that some time has passed I can remember her with fondness instead of sadness; I hope the same comes for you.
