Awesome. Reminds me of a Rembrandt painting because of the color scheme & lighting.

I downloaded Apophysis but havent tried it! I have so many fractal programs and each works differently, its a nightmare! Tried Chaos Pro yesterday for thr first time in years but forgot how to use it! And still getting to grips with Incendia (god I love that program!)

oh, i used to have a small mention in incendia for all the help i've given aexion over the years... no more though, since he started taking money and didn't stop taking my code, soon got tired of that... forgive me if i don't share your enthusiasm about that particular program, aexion is a great fractalist but his methods are dirty and self-serving; sometime (hopefully soon) i'll opensource the framework i wrote using much of these methods.

Well for a free program I think its amazing! I would pay for the program if it were on general sale!(and if i had the money, which I dont....)

it is on sale, you pay money ("donate") and get ("a gift") the version without resolution limits. by that reasoning indigo renderer [link] is also free

i can give you extremely high resolution versions of this dv and oneiric, suitable for printing, if you like. the fractal details are really extreme!

I think it fits the "Seduction" theme very well. The world would be quite a boring place if only roses and lips could be used to represent that concept. IMO it might work even better without the highly detailed center, with just the "swirls". I'm not so fond of the colors (more to do with personal preference probably), but I really like the silky textures.

Wow, this one was the best looking out of the three, maybe not the most relvant to the theme, but wow...very impressive work!

not relevant to the theme? i thought long and hard about the look of the the image i would be making, and in the process of actually making this threw away a ton of beautiful variations because they were too "pretty" and didn't have the "dark silk" feel about them i wanted... all for nothing if other people thought it wasn't relevant; i can do so much better looks-wise but had to stay on topic
perhaps i'm a fool for thinking it looked more seductive than, say, spring [link] . i guess i could have pulled the whole "spring is the time for love" angle rather than the silly crap i wrote.
i guess i should "take what i can" and say i'm glad you think it's at least good looking :/ normally that's all that counts anyway, but i really tried to get at something specific here (perhaps i'm taking it too personally because of this).

Well, its complicated...I didn't mean to say it wasn't relevant in a bad way.
When you deal with fractal art, a certain theme becomes an improvised piece from the artist. One may say that if someone managed to make a pair of lips (which was one entry) or a very realistic looking rose then those would be perfect for a "seduction" theme. However, most pieces that come from Apophysis are not extremely realistic, so it becomes a matter of colors, flow, and emotion. That definetly is prominent here, but as I said, its not very relevant to the theme because it doesn't look like seduction.
Do you get what i'm trying to get at? Basically, it feels like seduction, but doesn't look like seduction.
Its a wonderful piece and as a fractal its beautiful, the sparkling effect and the flowing lines are very nice, but it just wasn't (in my opinion) the perfect fit for the theme (maybe that could do with Melon's wording of the description, i'm not sure).

i'm not sure a rose is the most seductive thing under the sun (i'd say love and and seduction are nearly orthogonal, mostly due to intent), but while i agree with your point about realism vs feel, in the absence of realism i concentrated on the feel and, well... i guess we differ on the understanding of relevance. i "dug deep" into that dark side, and this is what i came up with. vivid displays with dark undertones smacks of seduction to me at least...
btw, this isn't made with ultrafractal or apophysis. my own c++ all the way, no postprocessing (see my latest journal entry, or just the description for this piece ).

Well then, that's one hell of a code.
I get what you are saying and I agree...lol, I don't think we'll ever agree completely with the other.

thanks a cubic lightyear! i was terribly worried that being the 2nd to use the deviation name "temptress" might seem unoriginal/copied (i hadn't seen most of the entries before the brilliant entries gallery was posted).

Waves of silk or waves of hair locks - it's SHINY too! I love the darkened and lightened fragments on the right side: it looks almost 3D this way, as if light is coming from the inside and some of the fragments are behind the source, some are in front of it thus in shadow. The miniuature spots of light - like fireflies - here and there are a lovely touch too.
