For this time, I planned to do something different for the art. Compare to my previous arts, most of the time I will do a posing character with scenery background.

But doing that kind of style usually need a proper planning and inspiration. As for this, not to say there's no proper planning, but for me, I did this rather in casual way.

I just want to see how far I can revise the character to a more expressive character than cold face. Yes, Lightning character was revised from this art: [link]

After a long stare at this artwork, I realize her face looked plain, dry and pale. So what I did here, is intensify the color and eliminate the "whitish" of the skin. My research shows that never ever put so much of white on skin unless it's light reflection or wet effect.

Then another revolutionary steps (hehe, sounds like going up to a new stage) that I used the same based and convert into Lightning's sister, Serah. Sister usually bear some resemblance right? So what I did for Serah is make her eye bigger than Lightning, change her lips, her eyebrows, make her nose rounder and rounded her cheekbone. Also I give a bit characteristic to Serah by making her smile slightly. LOL, Lightning is always more serious looking than her sister right?

To explain the background, these digital thingy was based on PSICOM eye perspective. If you happen to see the opening scene of FFXIII, there are one time whereby it shows the PSICOM point of view and then shot by Lightning. The inspiration was derived from there.

It's another experimentation to test my digital effect skill. Another main inspiration was from `adonihs for this art [link]

And those weird wording? LOL, it's actually Sanctum language. If you really want to know what the word behind, go check it out at Google, look for FFXIII font and then translate. Each character presents the alphabet. Well, that if you got nothing to do

Anyway, I hope you don't feel disappointed for me being indifferent or not doing it like before. Sometimes I need to explore around and see how far I can go. Furthermore like I said, this is a casual art... I just want to test out some experimentation.

Last note, initially I was planning to release a hi-res version so you can see the details for the two characters. But with thieves around, I start to scare showing those... In fact I deliberately make their face digitize (with visible pixels) to counter those...
