Another book cover, this is going better than the other H.G. Wells book, The War of the Worlds, which I'm having problems with
. Now, with this cover, my tutor said to me to do the time traveller on the machine, in some weird space-setting. I'm sorry, that thing has been done before, in the whole scheme of 'illustrating the unillustratable' time has to be one of the worst. So I avoided it
anyway, for me, the Time Machine is about the Morlocks, and in particular one bit where he's surrounded by their long, groping hands, but its too dark to see anything. A decidedly creepy bit of a very short but bloody brilliant story.
The stuff above is meant to be a huge refinery, basically the morlocks work to maintain these machines that do nothing, I imagined them to be rusting and rotten over the years

I found them to be pretty creepy too - especially when he describes how soft their hands are and how quietly they surround and try to subdue him. Β Great representation - their glowing, green eyes contrast nicely with the red background!

very nice focus and depiction of the morlocks. one tip for the mechanical looking background: you may want to refine it by making the pipes or lines more definate and convey depth and shadow. but i also think it is rather fitting with the style of the morlocks. i love your cover series, good job

I love it!!! Nice simple idea, excellently executed....yeah, the whole time machine etc. idea would just look like so many other covers. This is very striking.

It's a nice illustration, though I'd have drawn giant cog wheels on either side with a few smaller ones and the center of the background being largely black, more towards what I remembered from when I read that story.

I really like the direction you took with this cover, most people would try to do the machine but instead you went with illustrating the antagonists, and did a damn good job of it. The background doesn't really give me the impression of machines, but I like it anyway. The background definitely exudes a futuristic feel, while the morlocs maintain a primordial sense. It's a chilling combination, nice work.
