Description
"I fell in love"DAZ3D Iray Render, PS & Topaz post work.
I decided to post both the painterly and the render version of the pictures for a while, for comparison. Actually the painted versions are more suited to the point in the story.
I think I will remove the rendered versions of this part into a subfolder in time. Tell me what you think about both styles!

Well, I love them both, but since I'm pretty much in '3D mode' anymore, I'm partial to this version. And on a related note, I absolutely LOVE your use of the poppies in that meadow. The transition of the red tones is really neat.

I'm really relieved that someone argues for the 3D version. Thanks for the feedback!
Is there anything in particular that you prefer in this version?

Don't get me wrong. I think the painted version looks fantastic, but for almost 20 years now I've dabbled in the world of 3D, so I suppose I just gravitate in that direction. However, if I was to pick one thing, it's simply the overall realism the 3D version provides. I get a greater sense of vast open skies, I can better imagine the sights and sounds, and a more vividly imagined grand prairie teeming with life. With the painted version, I don't quite get that. It feels more 'personal' for lack of a better word.

That is a good point, there is less sense of depth in the painted version. And it triggers another kind of imagination. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks again for the input!!

Post-processing for painting helps to accurately smooth out "unsuccessful" details. But at the same time, excessive use of post-processing also kills "successful" details. Once you come up with the idea that a partial processing of the picture may be better than complete.
P.S. I know that this has nothing to do with the topic, but the horse sausage is so delicious. I'd love to eat a friend like that.

We'll come to the horse sausage part later on.
You've made a valid point there. Difficult job, though.
Realism for example is not a neccessarily a measure of successful details.

If you create ten options before posting a picture, then this is normal!

So you know this feeling when it takes two hours for post-processing, but then you return to the original version.

Not to forget the 2 hours of work that just imploded because the goddam system hanged itself

Is it like the feeling after 32 hours of rendering shit you cant find those render settings that looked so good at the beginning?
Before you tried to find the juicy right details?

In DAZ there is no interactive render that displays all the changes in real time on the render?

There is one, but it only works on smaller scenes, not the stuff I do. Actually I had it running and it managed to kill the video memory and the system crashed.

I had the same problems until I exchanged several boxes of vodka for a new PC.
It sounds like madness, but just one copy of the 3dmax and the painter costs as much as a whole computer with components that are quite suitable for rendering. And this is not forever, it is only a subscription for a year. Therefore, switching to the dark side saves a huge amount of money.

Well... it's not a bad system I run the stuff on.
So I need a small van full of of vodka to exchange for a better one.
I build them myself anyway. So I will die of alcoholic poisoning.
