Description 28.01.2011, Anger day, Alexandria, Egypt: clashes by one of the buildings belonging to the national security police which is known for its brutal ways specially with political prisoners. They rained us with tear gas and their shot guns against the unarmed civilians.

Please support the Egyptian people in anyway in their battle for freedom, you can just send an email to your governments or representatives asking them to not support the Egyptian regime headed by Mubarak, thank you....

Update: Egypt is free, Mubarak is gone.... please support us rebuilding our country

would'v been even more epic shot if we could'nt see the guy on the right who is the guy with the shield ? a member of the secret police ? a manifestant who picked it and come back in the crowd ?
i really like the composition ! last question; is the noise on the picture related with the quality of the camera alone ? only because of the darkness ? or is the effect also produced by the gaz ? really nice one !

no, this picture was taken after the riot police retreated, and many of the young civilians took their sticks and shields... as kind of souvenir .... this crowd was near the HQ of the national security police that was in a side road to the right, and they were throwing tear gas at us, people were trying to break through to reach the building... so what you see is tear gas and also smoke from other burning buildings, but the noise or grain in the photo is because i set my camera to a high ISO as it was almost dark
