Description
Pokedex Challenge #35 #36I'm drawing the pokemons as they appear in the gameboy games: pokemon red and blue version, while I learn how to draw with Paint Tool Sai.

Clefable lost the details it has on it's cheeks and it's wings are more rounded now.
Clefairy has nails now. So they didn't change a lot.
I wanted to make the scene from Pokemon GS, but I made a lake by mistake — it's from gold and silver remakes.
In the original, Clefairies danced around a stone. So... I placed the stone too! I also imagined the scene inside Mt. Moon, but with a open space like in the games.
I used a few composition techniques to make the scene flow, and pushed the character's pose to give the piece the feeling I was looking for.

This is super cute! The bright turquoise works really well here with all the pink. I’ve always been partial to the old sprites of these guys, with their big feet, so it’s nice to see art based off it :’)

I was so happy when I triggered clefairy's event by accident in GSC! I didn't find any shiny — besides red gyrados — but I've seen a lot of stuff that my friends didn't knew about.

I cant believe its been so many years since those games came out and I still find out new things about it, like how you can actually get a Dratini on the route underneath Blackthorn city if you fish for it, like, what the hell??

Oh! I just knew that you could find dratinis in the Blackthorn's cave! So it's possible to fish then on the route underneath the city too... Amazing!
Once I was playing with a friend using a link cable, and I don't know why, but what happened in my game wasn't what was happening on her's.
I won the battle, and exited the pokemon center. She was still having problems killing my pokemons with infinite hp. When I walked into the grass — near mt Silver — I found a RED TANGELA, I'm not kidding! I was afraid because I knew a shiny tangela isn't supposed to be red. I reset the game, and it was back to normal.
Now I know that the way the shiny color is chosen in GSC is by jumping to the next color of gameboy's pallet. Somehow, it's possible glitch the game and make pokemons of other colors appear!

oh wow thats some weird stuff, in one of my cartridges there were pokemon at level zero so I had to resart, maybe th eperson who gave us the game had been trying out cheats or something like that

My game was "clean", but I guess it was a problem with the cable.
Once I caught a missigno in RB, I gave it rare candies until it evolved into a Kangaskan. I had almost sure that Kangaskan had a pre-evolution because of that. And guess what leaked almost 20 years later haha

Oh man I heard about that missigno thing! somehow it turned into a Kanghaskan, but I never tried it, I only saw it in youtube glitch vieos bout Pokemon

Missigno has leftover data from deleted pokemon, so it was fun to try to figure what it was.

Cubone was supposed to be a baby kangaskan, raichu was supposed to have an evolution, meowth had a pre-evolution, and wartortle wasn't blastoise's pre-evolution!
I would love to know more about the design process of the games I love. Especially about choices made because of limitations of technology. But I wouldn't leak anything! haha

Oh no I meant that I never to actually feed missigno candy (the only thing I really did with a missigno was to try and transfer it to stadium or gold, and I think it just turned into a Ditto), I definitely abused the crap out of the glitches back in Pokemon Blue lol, to me it actually made the game more fun to be able to use the trick way later on in the game, almost felt like a secret you were supposed to find out instead of a glitch lmao

and yes me and my brothers first Gold copy actually belonged to someone else, we had only played Silver at the time so we were really confused how there were pokemon at level 0 in this Gold game
