Description
Pokedex Challenge #66 #67 #68I'm drawing the pokemons as they appear in the gameboy games: pokemon red and blue version, while I learn how to draw with Paint Tool Sai.

These sprites were hard to adapt, just because they're so strange!!! I had to undo Machamp's lazy eye... and it looked more like an oni before.

Oh man these were certainly bizarre sprites back then, I did use machokes fanily a lot back then and Id say they have gone through a lot of changes over the years, my favorite is of course they looks back in Stadium, Machoke didnt stand straight it used to hunch and act more like a gorilla, a great mon with some freaky old sprites kek

You talk so much about pokemon stadium that I fell like playing again!!! I miss machoke moving like a gorila 
It was the first time pokemon got models so it's amazing to notice those changes (in movement).

YES! and man I just love stadium so much TvT
as a hardcore fan of animation, anything that makes me want to watch it over and over is like a drug, and Stadium just had over the top filled with passion pieces of animation mixed with some of the best camera angle ever, really hard to find that kind of content nowadays unfortunately, I don't mean to talk poorly of todays work of course, but there's no denying something worked out really REALLY well back then that just hasn't been replicated ever since (well Id say battle revolution certainly did a fantastic job as well, I just didnt get a chance to play it :<
Id say the closest we've gotten to the old feeling of truly alive pokemon is Super Smash Brothers what they did with Pokemon in that game, especially Incineroar, it just oozes personality <333

You're right, they really had the weirdest looking sprites, Machamp looks quite different to its actual appearance since here it lacks those defined lips it usually has (and for some reason, its sprite from Green differs a lot from the one from Red and Blue. In Green, Machamp looks like if King Dedede met Goro from Mortal Kombat lol)
so you thought Machamp also looked like an Oni, that makes me wonder how are you gonna draw Magmar and Electabuzz since they're pretty much the oni pokemon of Kanto
