Hurrah! I'm done! I feel I've gotten enough drawings for the proposal, including this last set of goodies, all that other stuff I've been posting, ten pages of storyboards, and a couple other things. This puppy's hitting the nearest post office either tomorrow or Wednesday at the latest!What I got here are a few last minute character and head models of the three major actors in this short. Until now I haven't had a part in the story where Chicky lets her hair down, but I might have to add that in because I like how it looks. I also hadn't drawn much of the Professor until now, but he got to be fun after working with him for a couple of hours.

So, did you have "The Final Countdown" in your head when you were drawing these "Final Update" drawings?
I agree with Ty, she looks a little older here than in previous drawings, particularly the one with her hair down. I don't mind so much, as it might be better to have a slightly older looking character. It'll all resolve itself in the end.
The professor is the real star here. He's absolutely awesome. I hope we all get a chance to see them animated just to see him fall on his face. I can see you really have been looking through those old "how-to" animation books we both own.

Yup, it's all about "line of action," as tvskyle so excellently reminded me. Streamlining the body to accentuate every movement really sells each action. And I would love to see the Professor animated, so I hope it happens.
Chicky did get a litte older looking in these last drawings, perhaps because we'd talked about making her an even 12 years old by then and I tried to work with that. With the hair-down one, that would make her look older no matter what her proportions were. I realized I'd drawn her with her eyes wide open in every single picture, so I had her eyelids drop a bit for that one just to see if I could make it work. So basically she can go from looking like 8 to 14, depending on what she's doing.

The Chicky with her hair down looks a bit older, but perhaps that is what you were going for. I like how you've really explored alot of emotions and postures. You've obviously put a lot of thought into it.
And the professor is great, and his arm hair is greater, perhaps the greatest cartoon arm hair I've ever seen. I looks like it could be a weapon. Keep up these great character designs.

Y'know, now that I think back, I believe Blanka had the same arm hair. That leads me to believe that the Professor has the same thick mane of chest hair the great green warrior had. Jeez, I hate ripping things off without realizing it.

I went back and played Street Fighter 2 on MAME last night. Blanka doesn't have the big orange arm hair, so I dodged a bullet there. But I still like the idea of the Prof. sporting a Sean Connery rug on his chest.

Don't think of it as ripping off, think of it as "borrowing elements." And yes, a chest hair mane would be great, like Neil Diamond, only red.
And the professor is way cooler than Blanka anyway.

I can see how fun the Professor became! His poses and whatnot are some of the best! Not to downplay the rest of the work, mind you; it's all excellent! Good luck!
