Description
If you haven't read "The Inverted World" by Christopher Priest you should!"A uniquely powerful novel of a society in decay. On a planet whose very nature is a mystery a massive decrepit city is pulled along a massive railway track, laying the line down before it as it progresses into the wilderness."
I read it many years ago and it gave me lots of inspirationβ¦
...I felt it needed a Deus ex Machina at the end⦠:/

Now, this really is more my cup of tea mate! Think I read this many moons
ago, but my aged and greying brain cells can no longer fully bring it to mind.
The sense of movement is very well expressed here in a very dynamic image Johan!
btw, sorry for not commenting til now, but I'm always at a loss for words with your stuff!
Xtra claps!!

No problem Mark, I am a slow commenter myself...
It was many years ago I read it, but when I found this place it came back to me very strongly.
What inspired me most about the book was the fact that they lived on a very narrow band of stability.
In forward direction the world was all flat, and behind them everything got stretched out in height.
I used it visually in some of my oil paintings from that time (late eighties)
And I have the same feeling from many of the surfaces I have been visiting the last two years...
I knew this was your cup of tea Mark, glad you like it!

I admit that this is a very and very well done picture, but I'm almost lost as to what I'm focusing on. Perhaps I'm not thinking abstractly enough.
