"Rest Matoran, let you Nightmares build, and provide me sustenance"

Cauchemar was a dream demon of ancient Matoran legned. According to legend, a wounded Turaga would appear and ask to be provided aid. During the following nights, any senitnent creatures living in the villiage would have nightmares of a three eyed monster. After a week, the Turaga would vanish and the nightmares would stop. Because of this, most people accept the possability that Cauchemar shapeshifts into the Turaga, and then invades peoples minds while they sleep. Recently however, a group of Ko and Ga Matoran Historians prooposed that the Turaga might actually be a Herold or servant of the dream demon, forced to aid it in finding food, in the form of the fear that the nightmares produce.

Personality: existing manuscripts that detail what Cauchemar was like described it as borderline beast-like, often causing nightmares that involve it chasing its victims in a sort of cat-and-mouse game, which often also includes it using visions of creatures or people the victim fears to increase the amount of fear in a person.

Powers/Abilities: Cauchemar seems to be able to invade peoples and minipulate their dreams. It is also largely believed that Cauchemar can shapeshift (Turaga form). Many believe that Cauchemar feeds on fear, which is why it would give people nightmares.
