Jeanette didn't exactly know what happened, but suddenly found herself groaning softly, groggily blinking awake on the cold hard floor. Her blurry eyes sharpening to a large nightstand and royal blue bed. She pushed herself up with her hands, noticing something was different. Her turqouise eyes widened. Her hands were no longer painted, now clothed in white gloves. She felt warm in a bodily temperature, unlike her former pine frame. The room held a chill to it. Her chest pulsed in a heart beat. A living breathing heart, feeding her body a new found form of life. The golden blonde hair curtaining her face was no longer fine silk threads, but actual hair. She was no longer wooden. The last thing she remembered was saving the night from being taken over by the rule of the rat queen, with Nicolas. Nicolas!

"Jeanette?" Nicolas questioned towards the small female form, closing in to get a better look. He gently fell to his hands and knees, crawling and hovering over. His green eyes sparked in possible hope as he pushed back curly auburn hair from his face. Could it be? Is it she? The nutcracker that saved his life? His eyes glued to her as she shifted around in place, seeming to study herself. "Is it really you?"

The male's voice rolled over her, assending around her. It was loud and fairly rich in tone. The nutcracker slowly moved her head up, his enlarged presence lightly swallowing her view. She looked up with a smile, her caramel blonde hair slightly covering portions of her burned face. "Hey Nicolas."

The male grinned brightly. "I knew it was you!" He smiled as he was quick to scoop up the female into his arms and give her a hug. His excitement smothering her into his chest and face. "I just knew it!"

Jeanette's eyes widened as the male quick discended for her. She gave a startled yip as his large hands suddenly slipped underneath her person and lifted her clear off his floor, thrusted in an embrace. She couldn't help but giggle as his size and strength held no match for her, her clothed hands pushing at his cheek having no effect.

"My Jeanette." He smiled. Nicolas held the emotion of relief for a few moments, feeling shorter in time than what it actually was. He held her close, maybe alittle too close.

Jeanette found herself practically smothered in attention. She gave a slight hiss through her teeth as the male shifted in movement and hit some of her burned marks on her face, skin instead of pine.

Nicolas gave a small sudden gasp as he pulled her small frame away, emerald eyes widened at the realization. How could he be so forgetful? "I'm sorry. It hurts, don't it..." He gave a concerned look over her, a finger carefully moving hair out of the way so he could see. It looked like a solid burn on her face and shoulder. Her face reddened and shoulder singed in a glossy tone.

"Just alittle. This is all new to me." Jeanette said as his finger tucked hair back. He stared intensly and studied the skin's condition. She could feel his emerald eyes bared down into her new skin wound, scanning. "Pain and... amongst other things."

"Well, you were a pine carving..." Nicolas thought aloud as he stood up. He craddled her softly as he headed over to the bathroom. He could read her features that it had to sting. She looked slightly uncomfortable. Then the thought came to him. "Wait... you've never been alive before?" He asked as he sat her down onto the stone countertop, her statement finally sinking in.

She shook her head no as he carefully sat her down on the bathroom counter. Her black boots gracefully met the stone before eventually sitting down.

Nicolas gave the look of utter confusion and sympathy as he scratched his curly head. He pulled out some silvadene and cloth. "So never had food or sleep or-?"

"I haven't even had a heart beat let alone... that stuff..." Jeanette interupted as she hissed at her burn marks, her hand lightly touching it. Oh boy, they stung. "All part of being a nutcracker doll... I guess."

The male twisted the cap off and put a spot of silvadene on his finger. "You helped me last night. Nutcracker doll or not. Allow me to return the favor... Please." He said, leaning over the female staring at herself in the mirror.

Jeanette looked at him, turning her head towards him. She gave it a thought. This was all new to her. She wouldn't know how to go about burns. He knew what he was doing. "Okay, Nicolas." She gave him the all clear.

"You can just call me Nick." He gave a small nod as his hand slipped behind her and he ever so carefully began patting it on.

"Mmmnnnhhh..." Jeanette held in the pained sigh as he attended to her wounds. The silvery white cream cooled the hot red skin, lightly stinging in the process.

"Almost done. Should heal up alright within some time." Nicolas stated as he finished up the side of her face and moved down to her shoulder. Her strength continued to amaze him.

She tried her best not to fidget as he wrapped up her shoulder in a cloth. She looked kinda like one of those civil war soldiers with the way her shoulder was wrapped. Alittle bulky and really unconvienient to her but she appreciated his caring efforts. "Thank you." She smiled up at him.

Nicolas smiled down at the female. "Nothing compared to what you did..." She looked weakened. Well, drained. Like she hadn't had sleep nor food. Right. She hadn't. That'll help. "You saved my life."

"I couldn't let anything happen to you. You saved me from the snow. And you are a life. I had to take care and protect you." Jeanette stated up at the male in a blue robe. "I couldn't let her hurt you, and get away with her wicked plans."

He smiled warmly at the words. "And now I'm here to take care of you." The male said, pointing to her. He felt kinda responsible for taking care of his nutcracker. She didn't know the first thing about being alive. Like a toddler having to rely on a parent for guidence. He had to help. He collected her up once more. "Hungry?"

Jeanette's eyes felt heavy as the cream seemed to help dull the stinging hot skin. Moments later and she fell asleep in Nicolas' arms.

Gentle purrs of sleep rumbled in his arms. He looked down at her. She fell asleep. He gave a warm smile as he carefully adjusted her sleeping frame, craddling her once again at his chest. "I'll feed you later, Jeanette. For now...Rest easy."
