I might look for this video some time. I remember watching either the first or second Inspector Gadget films way back in 3rd grade or so.

Sweet! It's a different sort of nostalgia for me. I was more open to things as a kid and about half the stuff he bashes, I actually enjoy. Doesn't mean I don't enjoy his videos though. If anything, it feels like I'm actually talking to a human being. It's sad that there are people out there who go onto the internet thinking that everybody in the entire world is going to agree with them or share their opinion.

I really enjoyed this movie as a kid (even though some parts scared me, like the koncept of cyborgs)
But watching it again, it fascinates me just how chaotic, weird and in you face it is.
Almost nothing works, the humor is unbalanced and forced, the characters aren't given enough time (and aren't that funny) and it's just ultimately horribly shot and edited.
The best examples of just how horrible the movie's shot are 1: The scene where Brenda punch Dr: Claw in the face and 2: The scene where gadget is hoping around on springs....

Yeah, I used to enjoy that movie as a kid, but then I watched it again years later, and honestly I couldn't help but agree with NC about how bad it really is. I look at it and wonder, "How the hell did I enjoy this piece of crap?!" The sequel, however, was so bad that even back then I thought it sucked.

Gadget just felt nastier and not quite as cheerful in IG 2 as he was in the cartoon. Not to mention the cringe-worthy CG. And the less said about weird robot romances the better.
That said, I do believe the deleted scene "Claw Grills Penny" is the best scene in either movie, and for their parts, the actors for Claw and Penny were better in the sequel.

Actually, it does. In the first film, they showed it all the time, whereas in the sequel, they didn't, much like the TV show; somewhat keeping to the spirit of it.

While I disagree about the overall quality of the movie, I can agree on this point. Tony Martin was a vastly superior Claw than Rupert Everett.

Let's see, left home after she was dropped off, Went to Scolex's building, Found his minion trying to cram the foot into the toilet, they had a talk, the minion felt bad for being a minion, it may probably not be much, but it's, what's the word i'm looking for? Oh, yes. SOMETHING! I love the Nostalgia Critic, I enjoyed the movie before, I see the flaws, I think the movie's OK, not extraordinarily good or bad, but still, he needed to pay more attention.
