There was a distinct possibility that Callie might throw up.

She felt lightheaded and queasy, as if the world was spinning out of control around her. For several seconds she just stood there with her mouth open, blinking owlishly as she stared at Crystal. She could feel her grip on reality slipping out of her hands...

"Did you hear what I said?" Crystal pressed, frowning. "I want you to bring me Elliot and the rest of our old gaming group."

"I heard you," Callie replied softly.

Earlier that day, Callie had watched Crystal transform five of her friends into plastic figurines. Then Crystal had coerced Callie into luring four other people into a trap - including another of her friends - so that Crystal could turn them into figurines, too.

Now Crystal wanted her to lure the rest of her friends to their doom.

A cruel smile played about Crystal's lips as she observed Callie's distress. "I intend to have my revenge for the disrespect that they showed me... and you are going to be the agent of that revenge, slave." She raised an eyebrow. "Unless you would rather join my collection along with them?"

Crystal swept one hand to indicate the figurines on the table beside her.
