What if Mufasa is alive in The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride (Mufasa and Sarabi stand up for Kiara and Kopa and they go look for Kovu and Vitani)

Simba stands on the promontory after having just arrogantly and unjustly exiled Kovu.

KIARA: Father, please, [Kiara approaches Simba.] reconsider.

MUFASA: Simba, I’m very disappointed in you.

SIMBA: You will not go anywhere without an escort from now on.

KIARA: No, that's not–

Simba looks back at Kiara.

SIMBA: He used you to get to me!

KIARA: No! He loves me...for me!

KOPA: Same with Vitani! She loves me for me as well!

SIMBA: Because you are my children. [Simba juts his head at Kiara, who backs away.] You will not leave Pride Rock. You will stay where I can keep an eye on you. Away from them!

KIARA: You don't know him!

KOPA: Not even Vitani!

SIMBA: I know they’re following in Scar's paw prints! [Simba bows his head.] And I must follow in my father's.

Before Kiara can shoot back at Simba, Kopa who has enough of the way Simba is treating him but also his little sister Kiara finds he can no longer hold back his temper against Simba because of Simba’s behavior. And so he walks right past Kiara, Mufasa, and Sarabi, walks right up to Simba in his face and looks him dead in the eye as he protects Kiara from Simba.

KOPA (revealing his temper and mocking Simba): Father! How many kingly lessons have you had? Four! I’ve had a lot more than that, and so has Kiara here! We put our lives on the line every day to defend peace, love, freedom, balance, and the Circle of Life! And all you do as of recently is sit here making decisions that you believe you won’t have to live with! And speaking of decisions, your decision to send Timon and Pumbaa after me and Kiara during my and Kiara’s first solo hunt resulted in us deciding to take our first solo hunt away from the Pride Lands and almost getting us killed because of what you chose to do! Had you stayed true to your promise about letting me and Kiara do our first hunt on our own, we would’ve gladly had no desire or reason to take that first solo hunt away from the Pride Lands, and we could’ve avoided that fire! And now, the decision you just made by exiling Kovu and Vitani and not allowing Kovu and Vitani to have the chance to prove their innocence like Grandfather Mufasa would have done has only caused further damage and division and distrust amongst our family and may result in you losing everything including your heirs and your life! You are very irresponsible and selfish, and a majority of the things you have done recently has only made things turn out badly for me and Kiara! Are you trying to send us a message, you big arrogant selfish spoiled bratty piece of garbage!!

At that, Kopa attacks Simba. And before Simba can do anything, Kopa has Simba in his grasp as he gives him a black eye. Mufasa, Sarabi, Kiara, Nala, and the Pride watch in shock at what Kopa is doing as Simba is no match for Kopa due to him having the strength of his grandfather Mufasa in him. Kopa then throws him to the ground as Simba is powerless to do anything.

KOPA (glaring at Simba): Besides, Grandfather Mufasa forgave you when you disobeyed him by going into the Elephant Graveyard when he told you not to, and it was because you meant it! Shouldn’t you have shown Kovu and Vitani forgiveness and mercy just as Grandfather Mufasa forgave you. (to Mufasa, Sarabi, and Kiara) Let’s go, guys.

MUFASA: What about Simba?

KOPA: He’s not coming with us. And even if Zira does come, this is where my father will have to learn his lesson.

SARABI (agreeing): Yes. I’m with you on that.

MUFASA (seeing that Nala is wanting Kopa to apologize to Simba): I’m sorry, Nala. But this is where Simba is going to have learn his lesson. And unfortunately, apologizing to Simba at this point is not wise and will not do any good. Otherwise that will be adding more fire to the fire.

Nala understands as Mufasa and Sarabi leave with Kopa and Kiara to go find Kovu and Vitani.
