Description
What if the other half survives the Snap in Avengers: Infinity War/Avengers: Endgame(Option 3: Xandar)
(Peter Quill and Gamora spend time alone with each other as Peter Quill tells Gamora why he's been spending time getting drunk and fat)
GAMORA (to Peter Quill when they break apart and having decided that being out in the open plaza is not the best place for them to spend time alone with each other): Let’s go take a walk.
Peter Quill agrees without hesitation. Peter Quill takes Gamora to the house that he and Drax, Mantis, and Groot are living in on Xandar where Peter Quill gives Gamora a view of the capital city of Xandar. Gamora is very fascinated with the view of Xandar and how far it has come in recovery from after Thanos decimated Xandar to get the Power Stone.
PETER QUILL: Isn’t this a great place?
GAMORA: It is beautiful. (Seeing Peter Quill lowering his head in thought) What’s wrong, Peter?
PETER QUILL (hesitant and still not making eye contact with Gamora): It’s nothing.
Peter Quill is not making eye contact with Gamora as he is hesitant about letting Gamora see his expression and feels he cannot bring himself to face the woman he loves after what he’s been through and feels too emotional to let Gamora see it. But Gamora knows Peter Quill very well enough to know when something is wrong with him and when something isn’t even while others don’t. Gamora hates seeing Peter Quill like this as it just isn’t him. And so, very concerned for Peter Quill’s well being, Gamora puts her hand under Peter Quill’s chin and gently forces him to make eye contact with her.
GAMORA (in a firm but gentle and affectionate manner as she holds both of Peter Quill’s hands in both of her hands): Peter, I’ve known you long enough to know when you’re lying and when you’re not. And right now, you are not telling me the truth. Tell me what’s bothering you. I can tell that you’ve gotten really drunk and fat, you look like a Viking, and you’re just not being yourself. You can tell me about what you’ve been going through and share your feelings and experiences with me.
PETER QUILL (starting to have emotional tears while he knows how much he trusts Gamora’s judgment): When I learned what Thanos did to you to get the Soul Stone, it made me so angry that I lashed out on him, and when the Snap happened, it was partially my fault for it being able to happen. And then when Thanos used the Stones to destroy the Stones, I have been in a deep state of sadness, and I felt that I would never be able to get over what happened to you nor live without you. That is why I came to believe that resorting to getting drunk and fat and looking like a Viking would help me to deal with the pain I’ve been experiencing feeling from your death. I mean, Gamora, I love you more than anything, and I felt that it wasn’t right nor fair that Thanos tried to take you away from me.
