Happy almost 2020, everyone! Time to celebrate the oncoming decade. And what better way to celebrate a fresh start than to give a lot of my characters a fresh start? That's right, REDESIGNS! Plus, a little kick to the status quo in some areas. And some new characters. Quite a few of those.

And of course, no way I'm ending 2019 on that...thing I did previously. Well then;

1) Now, we start off the redesigns and teasers with...uh, technically no redesigns. Yes Callie and Marie look different but they are alternate styles; one based off of Marie's Agent 2 gear and the other a potential redesign by my good friend kittenScientist . They've found themselves a brand new base of operations! Yes, I finally found a map that fits what I'm looking for. So they've got way more space to Make the Inklings Suffer, it doesn't smell of shit AND it's not chock full of a liquid that's harmful to them! So they're happy. But wait...what happened to their old base?

2) Oh.

"Hahaha! This base for those ol' frownyfaces now belongs to the Ministry of Joy! Oh, I'm so happy. My Boss will be SO overjoyed when he hears of this victory! I can't wait to start decorating! It's gonna be so...yellow!"

3) Meanwhile, in another dimension, on a coast with many guns...say hello to the Rawmongers, everyone! ...Yeah okay, so I was thinking and...well, my thoughts turned to "what if the War Splats came from that mystical alternate timeline where Callie won the final Splatfest back in Splatoon 1?" So in this timeline, Marie was kidnapped and brainwashed and Callie tried to save her. And...yeah in Raw Callie's timeline she decapitated her with her Roller. Whoops. So here, the team dynamic is quite different to the basic War Splats; Callie's the psychotic gunslinger, Marie's the sadd healer with the robot arm, Pearl's the addicted tinkerer and Marina's the smug, controlling type who is having a liiiiiiiiiiittle bit too much fun. They're overall a little less stable than their alternates, and butt heads with them many times. You'll be seeing them in the new year.

4) War Meggy gave herself a redesign as well. She saw her noodle-limbed counterpart vow to win Splatfest...and she just kind of gave up. Disillusioned by her future and her fanbase she kind of just...went rogue. Or as rogue as she can considering she can still get controlled by War Pearl, unlike the other rogues. But she has enough freedom to act on her own free will sometimes.

M: So...you're not mad?

WM: Is it worth being angry anymore? You stay with your dumbass friends and lose that Splatfest in a shock-horror twist and be okay with it because FWIENDS or whatever. I'll just go off to another timeline and win THAT Splatfest. At least I'm not a noodle-limbed plank like you.

M: Wow, Mango(!) I'm pretty glad I ended up human if YOU were my alternative.

WM: SHUT UP

5) Finally, on the Warmonger side, we have War Three's team, now known as the Neo-Squidbeaks. Three tried so hard, but in the end, she came to terms with the fact she's not herself anymore. She's not the Agent 3 that saved Inkopolis. She's the Agent 3 that killed Agent 8 and doomed Inkopolis. It threw her into deep depression for a while, but War version of Agent 8 was able to snap her out of it soon enough. Perhaps it was here that Eight revealed herself to be a brand new type of Warmonger, the Heartbreaker. With her and War Hale by her side, Three dons a new look and doubles down on her efforts to bring the War Splats to justice...just, her way now.

6) Marja and Ve, wearing their new clothes they got over Christmas and having a smooch like the perfect lesbians they are. Marja's got a newer design I'm happier with; new shoes, gloves, paler cyan tentacles and slightly tanner skin. I dunno, just feels better to me. And props to Omega-ShaHaley for his excellent redesign of his OC, Ve, which is his. All his. Look at her. Bean.

7) Oh hey look, it's the mandatory Splatoon Turf War OC Team! From left to right, with proper names and the who-names-their-kids-that naming style of the Manga;

Tony/Vest: A male Octoling who idolises Kensa and cares only about winning. So, he's kind of a twat, is what I'm saying. He sort of exists because I dislike Kensa. He won't be a strawman, though. I promise.

Oswald/Ozzie/Duo: Yyep, male AND female, though female in this pic. See, I originally had him be injected with something that switched his gender, like the old days in my work. But I went, "...Yeah that's lame, let's make him gender-fluid". So he has both personas he/she switches between when he/she feels like it.

Demi/Demin: The leader of the group, she's really just happy to be there. As a fact of sorts; she is my favourite loadout for the female Inkling in Splatoon 2; Denim Hat, Black V-Neck Shirt and Navy Enperrials. Also the NZAP89 because that's also my preferred weapon. Does that make Demi a kinda-sorta-self-insert? I'm not sure.

And finally, Ling: Full name Inka Ling. Yeah. She's an Ex-Elite, as you can tell, one of the many to hear the Sisters Song and escape to the surface after the events of Octo Valley. The difference is that Ling came to the surface a lot earlier than most others, so she's been in the city a while. She is paranoid that people will hate, oust, maybe even kill her because of her species, even long after they became accepted on the surface, so she pretends to be a Woomy, fresh from the train. Hence the starter gear. You know that common portrayal of an alien doing a really bad human impression? Like, "HELLO YES I AM HUGH MAN WITH MY HYOOMAN HANDS"? That's Ling.

8) And speaking of Octolings, here's Jasmine! Marja's and Ve's friend. She is also an Elite, one from the Science Domes. They tried to make her stronger and...well they did THAT. And then some. She was actually ridiculed for her curves, especially when it transpired that it made her unable to aim or fire standard guns. She ran away from the Domes and tried to make it on the surface...and lost to Ve and Marja. They actually ended up befriending her, even giving her a Splatling that she is more capable of using. So now they best friends, and she acts as the power member of the team. She'll get her own bio soon. A lot of the characters in this list will.

9) Enjoy your festivities all you want to, humans. I know what you are. What you are capable of. How you view us as toys, puppets...we suffer, for your own amusement. The Callies and Maries I have seen across the universes...in pain. Because of YOU. Let it be known, you are not safe. Not from me. I will find you, and I will make you all pay for the pain you have put us through. Fear me. FEAR THE META.

10) And finally...who be this boi? Is it a certain sometimes-inksona? Well, you're gonna have to wait a liiiiiiiittle bit longer to see him in full.

Until then, happy new year, everyone! 2019 was a pretty shit year, but lets really put our heads together and make 2020 the best we can make it!

And of course, no way I'm ending 2019 on that...thing I did previously. Well then;
