Sorry this one's a little late. Had to do some last-minute fixing.
Finally out of the caverns below. Fresh air, fresh food and fresh space to vent. I think I put a little too much dialogue in this one...
Script:
(cut to above groud. The ruins of an Inkopolis destroyed by Team Chaos can be seen in the distance. The night is blue and cold, with stars skittering about in the night sky. War Callie and War Meggy are sitting on a picnic blanket, each holding a sandwich. A flask of tea is between them. War Meggy is looking wistfully into the distance.)
W.Meggy: So...that’s Inkopolis in this universe?
W.Callie: According to documents we fished off those No-Zone boys, this universe is categorised by Team Chaos winning that REAL Finalfest. Turned the whole world into Mad Mollusc. I was on Team Chaos, actually. Did you ever get these types of Splatfests?
W.Meggy: No...listen, Cal, I...I’m sorry.
W.Callie: Sorry?
W.Meggy: Sorry I flipped out. Tried to destroy the base.
W.Callie: It’s fine. You just...got angry, I get that. Pearl said you could have the sledgehammer for yourself on missions, if you wanted.
W.Meggy: No, no, I’m good. It’s just that...(takes a bite of her sandwich) I don’t, think anyone really gets how important that final Splatfest was to me. Winning it was my life. From the moment I first set foot in the Plaza, I wanted to win. I wanted to make my way to the hall of fame! And instead...all I ended up in was a cave underground in a post-apocalyptic world. Stuck with a bunch of crazies, with these...itchy red eyes!
W.Meggy: I wanted to win something because I devoted my whole coddamn life to it. I even believed in Mario and Tari to help me win...what a moron I was if I thought the the guy who literally referred to himself as retarded was my salvation. And then, I meet Axol, anime gets banned...I get squidnapped by Francis for his stupid anime island...and I guess that’s where our timelines diverge. She, the “real” Meggy, gets saved and transformed into a human. She gets all the breaks. And in this one...I die, and that Octo Bitch walks away.
W.Callie: Except we found you, saved you and you joined our team.
W.Meggy: Yeah. I get it. I shouldn’t even be alive right now. And sometimes...sometimes I resent Pearl. For saving me. For subjecting me to this pain, seeing another me steal my coddamn life, do everything I wanted to do, in the name of someone I DESPISED! For what?! To be a pawn in her little army? What’ve we even done the past two years?!
W.Callie: ...Lost two bases to giggling maniacs and bossy autocratic dictators respectively?
W.Meggy: WE HAVEN’T EVEN KILLED ANYONE EXCEPT THAT GODDAMN WEEB GECKO!!!
