[It has come to this. The first day of Splatfest has arrived. Inklings across the city are gearing up to fight in the last one. Team Chaos is kitted out in their leather jackets and saucepan helmets, while Team Order is clad in their uniforms and Hivemind glasses. Splattershots, Brellas and Rollers at the ready. Everyone's ready for a fight. And up on stage, Pearl and Marina are beginning their duo thing. The stage is extra-protected in the event of truly unruly crowds, though they have yet to dress in their outfits. This is just a test run of their shtick for tonight.]

Marina: ...Pearlie.

Pearl: 'Rina. Been hearing some shady stuff about Team Order.

Marina: Likewise. Pearlie, you need to stop this. Chaos can't win! This has gotten real outta hand!

Pearl: Well you got a little big for your britches, huh. I mean...MIND CONTROL, Marina!

Marina: I have to keep order! I have to keep my family safe! And if I have to take you down I WILL do it.

Pearl: Well I gotta make sure I bathe this place in ALL the Chaos so I don't have to live in some "safe" DYSTOPIA! [a long pause] ...What're we doing? How did we get to this?! What happened, 'Rina?

Marina: I don't know...have we gone too far? Oh Pearlie...

War Pearl: Aaaaaand kiss each other.

[The two idols turn to see a horrific sight. Their War counterparts are nearby, staring at them with devilish grins on their faces. But they are not alone. Alongside them are the fabled Squid Sisters, the previous idol superstars of Inkopolis...and they're quite corrupted. Callie is back in her Octo Valley gear, a skimpy leather thing that shows off an Octo Tattoo and those infernal Hypnoshades are stuck to her face. Marie, meanwhile is wearing an all-white version of her Idol outfit and is wearing a set of Hivemind Antenna. Both are clearly in deep trances, with wild grins and stoic grimaces on their respective faces]

Marie: THE ORACLE'S ORDER MUST BE ESTABLISHED. THE CHAOS MUST BE CONTAINED, AND THE RABBLE MUST BE REIGNED.

Callie: Screw that! We gotta keep fighting EVERYONE! We gotta make sure they know JUST who we're dealing with!

Marina: Is that...me!?

Pearl: And is THAT me?!

Marina: You told me you had a falling out! You said she wasn't gonna be a threat!

War Pearl: Oh, she found a way. [the two approach and take their respective sides, staring at their alternates] Once again our paths cross, Prime Pearl. Last time we met, I was but weeks on from my Marina's death. I saw the life you had with her, the life I never had, and it drove me...INSANE.

Pearl: Wait, YOU were the copycat me screaming up a storm? I thought you were just some poser! How the shell did I end up this moustache-twirling sociopath?!

War Pearl: The Plague, dear. It unlocked my potential. It gave me the drive to get up, and get going.

War Marina: Look at me, 'Rina! LOOK. AT ME! The sunken eyes, the hick accent, the bottle of moonshine, the BURNING hatred of all Inkling-kind! Don't this just bring back memories?

Marina: Memories I buried for a good reason! How could you let yourself fall from grace and become this trailer trash! You are everything I abandoned!

War Marina: Y'ALL DON'T KNOW WHAT IT WAS LIKE, you prissy princess! How all those ink-suckin' sumbitches turned on me! Because MAH suckers weren't on the inside like theirs! I want mah payback, even if I have to raze this city to the ground!

War Pearl: Don't you get it?! I know it'd feel SO good to kill these people, willy-nilly. But what if we run out of Inklings, huh? What then? No, best we control them, make them suffer, make them send themselves before us. To micromanage the mongrols and make-

War Marina: SHUT UP! You're too much of a COWARD to just kill 'em all! Ah wanna go on a spree, you be damned!

Marina: [a horrible realisation dawns on her] ...This ain't our game anymore. We got played!

Pearl: Played like fiddles! This ain't about Splatfest, is it? You just want to take your anger out on those innocents below us!

War Marina: Ah want revenge!

War Pearl: I want control.

Pearl: Well you're getting neither! Come on Marina, let's take these two fakers to school!

Marina: Yeah, this has gone on far enough!

War Pearl: Indeed it has. You know how it goes, 'Rina. I can CONTROL you, with these eyes of mine. You've only gotten this far because I couldn't see you. But now...I can end this once and for all. [her eyes start to glow vivdly. A fearful War Marina cries out in pain as she is forced to her knees] Step down, Marina. Surrender to Order. Surrender to Control! Surrender to ME!

War Marina: No! NNNgh...AH AIN'T YOUR LAPDOG NO MORE! [she reaches into her clothes and brings out a PDA with a button on it. She smashes the the button and an unearthly howl errupts from the platform as the speakers scream out and a wave of energy is thrown out across the Square. War Pearl's eyes seem to burn out and she screams as she collapses to the floor. Marina and Pearl are quickly knocked unconscious by the sheer howl, but the Inklings below are beginning to react. Hypnoshades slide over the eyes of the Chaotic, while the Antenna of the Order beep and people start holding their heads in pain. Free will is wiped from either side and everyone stands, awaiting command] Lovely. Now, Cal. Get 'em outta here. [Callie nods and drags Pearl to the holding cells] Looks like y'all can't charm yer way outta this one, fer once!

War Pearl: My eyes...what did you do?! Argh! Take her away! [Marie nods, and she drags Marina to the holding cells] No matter! No matter. If you still want to do this little spat... [both approach the edge of the stage and look out amongst the brainwashed Inklings. The Chaos Inklings are almost rabid, shivering with rage and foaming at the mouth, while the Order members are standing stock still, waiting to strike] Citizens of the Earth! Please attend, carefully...

War Marina: This dumb little spite-fest has blown up into a true apocalypse! It's WAR, baby!

War Pearl: Today, is the day that the future of this city is decided. Will you wish to see the city burn in the fires of Hell, to be destroyed by rowdy lowlives with no sense of pacing or self-preservation?

War Marina: OR, do yer wanna see your lands become sanitised spires of dictatorial control, where every whim y'all ever have is pre-thought, and resistence gets ya carted off to the salt mines away from the leaders playing with their puppets?!

War Pearl: Today, Inklings, today you fight not just for fun, but for your own survival! You must battle your enemy like the future of all you hold dear depends on it! Today, you can change the world! Wherever you fight for safety and stability...

War Marina: Or freedom to freak out!

War Pearl: You.

War Marina: Will!
