You know what you could try? Place your sketch on top of the tablet and "trace" it to the digital program. It only works on some tablets though, but I've heard that it's a good way for beginners to get used to their tablets. That way you still get the paper-feeling despite using the tablet, so it might help you if it's giving you a tough time

Ah excuse me, but may where you put "Good Anime Faces Examples", who drew the 5th head on the bottom row? It looks like kkuem drew it but I'm not sure. May I have a link to the picture? :]

Other than that, this was a really helpful tutorial! I'll be visiting here more often hehe ^^

Lifeburst In reply to ??? [2013-04-25 01:47:59 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! But I have a question, about the "popular mistake" face, two from the correct face. The eyes (the ones without perspective) sort of looks the same to me as the correct one, except not as big. So, what makes them out of perspective? I hope I'm making sense. Thank you for the awesome tutorial~

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MasterTeacher In reply to Lifeburst [2013-04-25 12:43:03 +0000 UTC]

It's because I know english not very good)) I mean, that distant eye can be narrower(compare neighbor eye) at width, but can not be narrower at height. If picture have strong perspective, distant eye can be little. But very often artists painted head without perpective and somehow made distant eye little.

This helped me alot thank you, I usually stare out at other people's drawing saying Damn, I wish I could draw like that, well, time to practice and put my effort into it.

Some people think that the practice - the key to all doors. Practice is important, but without the knowledge of the basics and techniques still did not work

//O_o you replied! I feel so honored!
Why I must no reply?))) I'm not star-artist, who have over8000 watchers and 1000 comments at day. I have 19k pageviews only
Also, even if I was "star", I would answer on all comments,(maybe except something short like "nice" or "" )

p.s. About your answer "about colors". I thing, I know all about colors... but my inglish so bad. It's hard to me to talk about something that longer than few stroke. (so story about colors have few pages). And I can give only one advice: realism(traditional academism) and anime (or fantasy cg art) - two different things. So if you drawing anime, all colors rules and laws must be overdone.
p.s2. little secret:just use more often in shadows brush with 4% opacity, "add light" mode, and lighted ambient color(of your pic.. color of sky for example)... for example: you have dark brawn shadow, and you can take this brush with light-pink color and draw cover this shadow.. It's hard to explain on words((

Well, I can barelly handle my inbox with 700 watchers, I imagine your case, specially having this awesome tutorial n__n

Hmm, I see what you mean. I do make the shading in different colors than the base color, but I see it isn't showing up enough. I probably need to be less afraid to contrast.

A color tutorial made by you would be magical! But I imagine just how hard it is to talk about a complicated issue on a language you aren't comfortable
It's ok, you've already been the greatest help I have ever received, so thank you n_n

MasterTeacher In reply to Nuei [2013-04-01 12:40:00 +0000 UTC]

Also, I think that people dont read tutorials with many strokes of text. In Russian there is even a slang "много букаф - не осилил" meaning that "the letters are too much and I'm too lazy to read". People like looking pics, not read. And I was try do tutorial with minimum text information... But if saing about colors - very difficult to explain everything without words. So many words = many mistakes for my English)))

p.s. I would suggest a good books about colors, but they are all in Russian
