Description I have been working on this project of the Enclave oil rig from Fallout 2.
I'm trying to keep as much resemblance to the classic tileset as possible.
So far I think the atmosphere of the technologically-advanced manacing headquarters of the Enclave fits well.

This is a second version of the project, you can check and compare the older version here:

Things to do:
- some textures
- ceiling details
- door opening animation
- more props for different views/rooms
- adding Enclave soldiers and other personel
- creating President's room tileset

Tell me what you think, I'd love to hear suggestions and critique

Update 06.06.2016: It seems I screwed up with the wall textures before because their colors were inverted - scratches reflected more light than the actual undamaged metal etc. and it looked wrong. Got it fixed now

First off, great work on the metal grating on the floor, the glow of the lights on the steel walls, the ceiling & below the grating. I also like the extra details on these steel walls, particularly the rivets and the worn textures applied to the surfaces. The door at the end of this hallway is interesting and it seems that it can be easily rigged to open and close with moving this giant rods. Seeing the door animate would be great as a GIF animation once the entire scene is complete, with the Enclave soldiers, props and the like. So far, I can't think of anything else to improve aside from the list of Things to do that you've already mentioned. Right now, it's a bit dull because it lacks those features. Keep up the progress!

It's a great concept! Fallout 2 was my favourite in the Fallout series and it's nice to see some makeover.

Thanks, it's awesome that you can feel the atmosphere
It took about 20 minutes.

I really like the texturing you did. It really brings home the fact that while the place is beyond cutting edge compared to the real world, in the Fallout setting almost nothing really exists that is brand new and untouched. Well maintained, yes, but nothing is truly spotless and perfect.
I've never really worked with 3DSMax, only played around in Mudbox. How did you make the little scratches and wears on the walls? I've looked closely, but at best I can see only make out a scratch pattern repeated once, maybe twice at the most. Was this a patterned brush(es) effect?

This is actually just a scratched metal texture which I changed to a black-white reflection/glossiness map in Photoshop, it's not a brush. I also wanted to make it diverse, so I rotated some wall panels 180 degress so that the other side of the map is visible, not only a single pattern.
Now I'll be making textures for every element of the door and then giving some more geometry to the cieling like pipes and such
