Yeah, that's the angle the show has when he's spinning around collecting the air... But when he does finally do it, they pan out to show the scope of what he's doing (thereby sacrificing this wonderful angle). I thought I could help complete the scene... Since we already have the scope

Gong bu's just the Chinese word for the bow stance from kung fu/gong fu/wushu. I used both the English and Chinese in case you were more familiar with one term over another. Most people unfamiliar with wushu draw the AtLA cast with crazy bending stances where their feet or hips are malaligned or their knees not properly bent. Yours is a textbook example of exactly what a bow stance should look like, complete with the straightened leg at a forty-five degree angle to the leading leg (it can also be at a ninety-degree angle, but the hips should always be forward). AtLA artists who want to do action scenes with bending, take note!
