For more Lil Formers head to www.LilFormers.comYes it’s true, Spider-man 4 is cancelled since Sony wouldn’t stop messing with it causing Sam Raimi(director) and Tobey Maguire(Spidey) to quit. Now they are planning to reboot the whole franchise… lame. The first two movies were pretty perfect, so they can’t really ‘bring Spidey back to his roots’ with a reboot like Batman Begins. There’s nothing to fix…they can only destroy. Oh well.
Also, YES, some fools are still trying to make a Spidey musical. It is quite probably the end of days. Somewhere Mephisto is wearing a pair of mouse ears and cackling.

Still bummed to hear about the news...then again, Marvel makes no sense nowadays. At least keep the actor who play J Jonah Jameson.

If they DO reboot the series, I'd like to see the following:
- Brock Lesner as Venom/Eddie Brock. How they screwed that up the 1st time around is beyond me.
- No Emo Spidey...PLEASE!
- Some other characters I'd love to see; Black Cat , Mysterio, Carnage, The Lizard, Electro, Green Goblin and maybe the Punisher.
- I think a Christopher Nolan-esque darkness would work really well for a bunch of movies (especially in Venom's/Eddie Brocks case.
- Of course you also have to have Stan Lee on board as a consultant or something similar.

Sorry Matt but there was plenty wrong with two. for one thing they played doctor octopus wrong from the start, too close to the lizard premis for me. (peter's favourite teacher who goes nuts after an experiment goes wrong).

Really? thought it was a great take on Doc Oc. The original doesn't really have much motivation, he's just a generally evil scientist type dude.

That was my problem with it, if they wanted to use a sympathetic character turned psychopath they already had one with Curt Conners.
Plus I've issues generally with the pace of the second film, it just dragged too much and the main love story wasn't that interesting (to me).
I don't mind film makers making changes to characters to make a better film, but on this occasion I wasn't that impressed with the film generally, so what changes there were I just added to the list of complaints.

Well knowing there was once a Superman musical I'm not so surprise that someone wants to do the same with Spider-man.
The reboot has me laughing like the Joker though. It sounds like they just want to recreate the hatred the fans had when they did the clone story in the comics in the 90s. It's like Warner Brothers announcing that instead of continuing the new Batman Franchise they want to go back and recast George Clooney and bring back Joel Schumacher to make a sequel to Batman and Robin.

I completely disagree with you that the first two movies were almost perfect, and that they can't reboot it any better. The first two movies were decent, but could have been done better. Namely, getting someone other than Tobey to be Parker. Second, Mary Jane wasn't the first girlfriend, it was Gwen. The second movie was good, but there were a lot of groaning sections in that too.
Personally, I welcome the reboot. If Incredible Hulk can reboot the Hulk series with masterful awesomeness, then surely Spider-Man can be done better. Certainly can't be done any worse then Spider-Man 3. *shudders*
The comic's funny. The fact that they want to do a musical is really quite frightening.

Well, yes while Peter met MJ first, Gwen was his first offical girlfriend. while Gwen is an important part of Spidey history in the comics, int he grand scheme of things he she is just a complication. She never really had much personallity, and was only around for a few years. I'd say stay away from Gwen for any movies. Black cat would be a much better love triangle type, as she helps play up the dual life of Spidey.

This is true, but for Black Cat to exist they'll have to bring in a long back story about Felicia's father. I don't know that two hours can do that justice. But Gwen's still important. She's the one that helps him realize that he can be both Parker and Spider-Man, even if it did cost her her life in the end thanks to Goblin. I will say that I don't think anyone will be able to top Dafoe's Green Goblin though. All I'm hoping for is Spidey to be more witty, and have a bunch of comebacks in his back pocket like he was always supposed to.

Felicia's Dad is easy, just say she is the daughter of the famous thief. Easy as that. Or don't say anything at all, her dad's not all that necessary. She can just be a rich girl who is a thief.

the thing with "incredible hulk" though, is that it wasnt nessesarily a "reboot" per se. it CAN be viewed as that, but if you want, it can also be viewed as a sequel-of-sorts since they dont waste any actual movie-time on the origin, barring the opening credits.

Mary Jane could be way better,
I "personally" prefer Dr Oc as a cameo only,
The intro song is too Superman Batman - ish,
Not enough smart jokes from the web-slinger,
Peter could have just invented a mechanism that allows him to shoot different web patterns onto his natural web hole,
Spider-man 2 costume was a bore as the changes were too artistically minor,
Narration from the 1st movie was unnecessary and to a certain point lame,
Dr Oc can't take a Direct hit from Spidey, cause only the arms are invincible not his physical body,
Where does his webbing go? its not like it evaporates in an hour,
....
Other then that, everything else was pretty good.
