For more Lil Formers head to www.LilFormers.comI may have mentioned it before but, as a kid TMNT was my very favorite thing to draw. I had a ton of the toys, and the Archie TMNT adventure comics were the earliest comics I collected as a series.
If you're unaware - Turtles Forever is an upcoming DVD movie where the original 80's turtles meet the modern version (through some dimensional portal or something...the odl show used portals a lot heh). Though in actually, it won't REALLY be the original turtles, since they didn't bring back ANY of the original cast. They're using all new voice actors. Very unfortunate as this COULD have been pretty cool.

I read that the new voices were because of some lawsuit. still, they sound a bit like them (although in fairness, I've only seen one episode and that drug specail).

i sent an email to ask about the original cast and they said this: "The original voice cast wasn't used - 4Kids told me they considered it, but it wasn't feasible due to geographic logistics and the expenses involved."

i agree, but here's hoping that the money is being saved up to make the live action movie the best yet!
*crosses fingers for at least PG-13 rating and a TRUE to the orinal comics adaptation* i mean come on, did they not see how great transformers was? that was kid friendly but good enough for adults to enjoy. and they showed one of them get torn in half, what's a little blood and swearing going to hurt?

Actually, I saw turtles forever, and the movie is actually a three-way cross over:
The classic toon turtles, the 2k3 turtles, and the old black-and-white grim and gritty turtles, all teaming up in one movie
Also, despite the different voice actors, some of them sound pretty close to the originals, And the movie itself kicked ass.

Actually the original TMNT WAS dark and gritty. And by original I mean the pre-cartoon stuff.

THis is funny,I find the new ninja turtles to be too dark, the old series was more wacky. But I enjoy them both.

Hm... I think it's only a cash issue with say, Cam Clarke... the original voice for Leonardo, and by far the most prolific of all the original turtle VAs.
A lot of his roles almost share the original voice too... In Grandia 2 as Ryudo, Prince Adam in the 2000 He-Man show revival, as Medivh and Malygos in World of Warcraft (and the B.Elf Male player voice, although it's somewhat altered).
But in any regards, he would be the only one that would probably demand a good chunk of change if anything. The other VAs all are somewhat active to this day, but aside from Mikey's VA portraying Sentinel Prime in TFA, they all have minor roles.
I think it's more 4Kids lack to make the effort... be it they don't care or find it worthwhile... than it is a money issue.

I LOVED Turtles! I was just too young enough for TFs so I LOVED Turtles with a passion. My brother and I had all the toys and faithfully watched the show.

Let's hope this isn't going to be another TMNT III The first movies were good, the one where they go back in time to china was lame. The newest TMNT rocked and if this one sucks....well, what can you do.
I'll tell you one thing though, I wouldn't mind one bit if they brought Casey Jones back into the picture. Not one bit.

3/4ths of the Turtles are still active in voice acting. This much I know. (Cam Clarke/Leonardo, Rob Paulsen/Raphael, and Townsend Coleman/Michaelangelo.) No reason why they couldn't have gotten a phone call...
Oh, well. Let's hope the actors they DO get at least put up SOME effort to sound like the originals.
