Commission of a small in system shuttle craft. Though not technically a dropship, it's hold is just big enough to jury rig hauling some size and styles of mechs.wacom and PS over sketch

Looks like the Zeon HLV from "Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memories".

It's been months. Anyway what I was trying to say was that mini dropship looks perfect for Gundam.

The roundísh appearance definitely fits Zeon.
And a ZAKU or GOUF comming out of it would indeed be appropriate, could even be a DOM.
Or one of the many marine MS Zeon threw at Jaburo. I like the Z`Gok.

I was always confused by the lack of EFF marine Mobile Suits. Considering how big a deal control of the oceans and Rivers was especially after all the flooding caused by the Colony drop.

Given that EFF started proper MS development long after Zeon it´s not surprising that they also did not went for specialized models, as the ones they had were available in such numbers that they could make up for any lack in environmental specialization with sheer strength in numbers.
Zeon on the other hand had started developing suits tailored towards specific tasks due to their base models are Jack of all trades and often showed lack in certain environments much earlier for Zeon to actually notice the need for specialization.
Plus they had much more development teams working on MS while EFF was still struggling with the reactors, have you watched the fight on the moon in Gundam Origins?
Those pre-Guncannons were ANNIHILATED with ease, mostly because their machines moved so slowly and could barely ge their weapons on any target.
I for my part like the BUGU and the other early designs.

yes, Origin added a lot to the story. we get to see in EYE WATERING detail just how UNBELIEVABLY STUPID the feds were and how the Zeon Leadership was totally corrupt right from the Get-go. it's also nice to see all the very early development. i like the whole converted industrial walker idea. ironically that's what happened in Battletech too. also, they do a REALLY great job of showing just how fast the nationalism spiralled out of control. people were forced to pick sides as they were literally in a choose or die situation. being literally trapped in a giant bottle in space makes this even worse.

Both sides were way too proud for their own good, one seeking to keep their dominant position, the other wanting to break free.
I for my part care more about the machines than the politics.
Yet i liked the original Duke Zeon, he seemed like a reasonable man and great leader. Until he got murdered.

YEP. what i can't figure out is how so many good characters like Ral went along with the whole thing especially after Operation British. THERE WAS NO JUSTIFICATION THAT COULD BE GIVIN FOR THAT. it was mass murder and then they dropped the colony to decimate the earth.

Heretic1311 In reply to JeanLucCaptain [2018-12-27 02:04:37 +0000 UTC]
I doubt front soldiers like Ral had much oversight of the war as a whole.
Even he had only limited access so far away from his info contacts.
And he was one of the most well informed.
The top tier officers didn´t care about the fact that they committed a crime, they had their own goals in mind.
Wasn´t the colony originally aimed on Jaburo? It hit Australia on accident as far as i got it.

THAT part is actually shockingly simple, remember the MIR?
Just a ouple of years ago they steered that old russian space station into the atmosphere to drop in the ocean (forgot which one).
So THAT part we already have done ourself.
Looking at it from this perspective is quite a scary thought, don´t you think?

The main issue with power armour being practical in real life is ironically the Power supply.

The sad story of my life. Or at least my smartphone
Just imagine what would be possible if we could create something like a Minovsky particle generator!
Or batteries small but powerful enough to power such mechanic infantry armours.
I played lots of Fallout games, having my own T-49 or such would be neat. Preferably with the jetpack like in FO4.
Shopping in the middle of a hailstorm? no problem!

Radio and Radar, but only long range, correct.
Short range is still possible, not to mention laser com, but i rarely see that used in any SciFi universe.

Another one of Anthony's works, older paint of his. 2 5rd Arrow 4's and an LRM15 with 2 ERMLs. If you look all careful like you can see a catapult in the background.
