Day 2 - Wisp

When I saw "Wisp" my immediate thought was a Will o' Wisp, which brought me back to the concept of Sam as an ice spirit (which I drew for the first time during my Second Inktober, and then drew again last year - basically a drawing-only AU where she'd frozen in the mountains while in hiding and became an ice spirit). I used the same clothes and basically the same pose as last year. Basically, I wanted to treat it as a redraw without being restricted to drawing everything the same. (In the end I like last year's more, but in my defense, I was a LOT more comfortable with the supplies I had used, while this year I'm launching out of my comfort zone via cannon. )

For this one I wanted to play around with the contrast of sharp lines and faded edges. I really wanted to add some cross hatching to her, but I was worried she'd blend into the background too much, since it was textured (you can thank a layer of salt for that).

I wish I had included more Wisps...

Done with a Hawk Quill with Marabu Aqua Ink.

(Fun fact: this paper was full of paint splatters and peeled layers because I was a disaster while working on the previous page, so while it might not be up to par with my normal work I'm thrilled with what I managed to do with the mutilated paper. )
